Kell Brook: ‘I used to give Khan a serious hiding’

    Sheffield prospect Kell Brook disputes Khan’s claims of roughing him up in sparring, accusing the WBA light-welterweight champ of running scared from a domestic dust-up.

    Amir Khan dismissed an offer to face Brook in his next fight, insinuating on his Twitter page last month that he used to have his way with the welterweight contender in sparring.

    But Brook, who has KO’d 16 of his 23 opponents, told the Sheffield Star, ‘When we sparred together as amateurs they had to separate us because I was giving him [Khan] a serious hiding.

    ‘We were young, in a training camp, and he was heading to the Olympics. But when we got in the ring I pasted him. That's what happened, not the other way round like he's saying.’

    Brook also went on to claim that Khan was ‘dodging’ him and lamented the Bolton man’s chin despite his recent heroics against Marcos Maidana.

    ‘The fact is he is dodging me. I read that Frank Warren offered Amir £1.5m to fight me but it was bigger than that. He doesn't want it – but I'd love the opportunity.

    ‘He is a nice lad but perhaps over-rated, he is fast but has a rubbish chin,’ said Brook.

    **** of Brook stop trying to make a name for yourself off Khans back, I would put money on him giving you a pasting back in the am's.

    Dodging Brook :rofl

    I think Khan and Pac are both avoiding the legend Kell Brook, this is not on a legend like Kell Brook being dodged left right and centre :roll:

    fight someone with a pulse and try to become relevant. frank warren would spend 1.5 mil on you? yea, sound

    I like Brook but he sounds lika an arse. Has overtones of Froch/Calzaghe, and that didn't work out well for Froch publicity wise.

    Providing Brook becomes world champ this year and Khan moves to 147 then it will happen

    i like Kell alot. but this fight isnt anywhere near close. There are much bigger fights for Amir at 140, it just doesnt make sense.

    It is sad watching Brook trying to talk himself into a big fight. How about he earns some of his big bouts given that he hasn't got the name to get them easy. When he has names like Barrera, Kotelnik, Malignaggi or Maidana on his resume then we'll give him the time of day.

    Right now Brook could go for the C'Wealth, European or maybe a legit eliminator. He needs to have a word with Frank and get a serious challenge.

    I agree. If he thinks Brook is actually the goods then offer fighters like that but in reality both are former champions, with too much experience and only the best will beat them and even they will get pushed. I'd be suprised if Fwank had that much faith in Kell.
