Even after the Pacquiao-Bradley fight, Bradley knew he lost. His facial reaction and when he was interviewed right after the fight, Bradley said ''I have to go back and watch the tape''. Honestly, Bradley wasn't even a Big name before the Pacquiao fight and now he just looks bad and not many fighters may not wanna fight him because of Bob Arum and the decision he got against Pacquiao. Good move by Kell Brook! :thumbsup
he's putting himself into the no. 1 position for the IBF because he'll get the owner of that title in the UK. why would he go and risk all that's he worked hard for by fighting in the most corrupt nation on the planet? plus, bradley is a arum fighter. that doesn't look good for an over seas fighter does it? use your brain will you. there's no duck going on.
His manager Eddie Hearn said in an interview after the Carson Jones fight. After Hector, he plans on fighting Alexander-Bailey winner for the IBF belt, then the hopes would be to defend it against Ricky Hatton or Amir Khan in a mega British fight most likely. I don't blame him or his promoter. Bradley's an enormous jump up in class and not a very winnable fight. No reason to give a prospect an unneeded sure loss.
Stateside exposure? Wanting to test himself against a superior opponent? Wanting to make the best fights possible, a notion Eddie likes to, theoretically, propagate? Was the fight was to be in Germany? Whereas overseas fighters are ever the recipients of a fair shake in chaste and virtuous Britain. Well my brain tells me that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Bradley was that line; Saldivia, as it now turns out, is an unnecessary and time consuming deviation from that line. If Brook just came out and stated: "I'm not ready for Bradley yet." then fair enough. But this whole thing has been stated; as if it has some basis in logic rather than in trepidation. :nono A duck; a clear duck, unless some concrete details emerge of a thoroughly unacceptable offer; then of course he'd be posthumously deducted the duck.
I think it was probably a wise move for him, but, his quotes make no sense and make him sound like he is ducking: "we begun this journey with the goal of becoming a mandatory challenger and now we are just one win away" Wait, what? You could fight for a belt now against Bradley, but, you'd rather fight for the right to petition a sanctioning body to force the champ to fight you within 6 months? WHAT?!?!?!?
so true, a lot of people are bashing Kell and Hearn for not taking this fight with TB, but infact i think it would have been a complete one sided event in terms of out of the ring activity, everything would be on THEIR terms, their judges, their arena, their terms, Kell would have basically been pissing into the wind. However taking the IBF route and winning the title is gonna put Kell and matchroom in a far better position in terms of discussing terms in these megafights. Clever promoting and as a Kell fan a huge relief
I hope this works out for him. I would have loved to see Kell get decent exposure against the Ninja Turtle.
Wow....If Kell reject Timothy then that says a lot about his stock after his biggest "win" over Manny,. I hope he finds a dance partner soon. I think he wants to fight on December 15th. There has to be someone worth an HBO date that finds a Tim Bradley fight appealing.
