Carson jones has fought at jr middleweight before and this weight favors him, because brooks been a welterweight his whole career. What's crazy is jones is 26 and kell brook is 27.
To be fair, he isn't ready for Alexander. You can't really call a green prospect not jumping in with a world champion a duck. Just because some are putting the cart before the horse and projecting big things for Brook and making him out to be world level already doesn't mean he is or that he isn't still a work in progress. This rematch with Jones is about where he is at right now in his development and if he passes the exam then he can ramp it up some. Realistically speaking, lAlexander is still probably too big a step up for his next outing after this.
Kell Brook has been a pro about 9 years. I'm pretty sure he also had 50+ amateur bouts so the time is now to be stepping it up to be honest. If anything his career has started to go back wads, he is literally not where he was 14 months ago when he first fought Jones. How is any of his good for his career? at least he would have some exposure and top level experience if he had fought Alexander. I don't think he would have been stopped either but if he had of been stopped in that fight then it would prove that he obviously isn't going to be that great.
:conf He was coddled and matched poorly, simple as. He topped out at domestic in his British title reign with his best result being Jennings. OK, so he outgrew that shell and it was time for him to move on. Great. European level - ancient N'Dou, even more ancient (in ring years) Jackiewicz), and Magic Matt. That's it. That is his apex of achievement to be shown for 9 years in the game. A middling American journeyman (and I say that being a big Kid Carson fan) ranks among his best names. It doesn't matter if he was around for 15 years, if you face soft opposition and then suddenly lurch into deep water against someone several levels above you, it's too much too soon. Somewhere along the way there were links missing to build Kell up on an incline of quality experience...instead he basically plateaued.
Kell brook will KO Carson Jones in 6 round Jones doesn't even have a good record Jones is just another yank twat
@IntentionalButt,somebody got their cherry popped and was bleeding all over the ring and barely survived.
Plenty of boxers can make that step up. Khan only fought a shot over th hill Barrera and then beat Kotelnik. Even if Brook had lost it would have been better than going back into a Carson Jones fight, which thre is a slight but realistic chance he could lose anyway. He has been in and beaten World title challengers or former champions like Hatton and N'dou, Alexander isn't exactly a KO merchant either. Brook should take that fight ASAP. Simple as that. If he's as good as he says he won't do too badly.
Jones is a year younger? That's news to me. Hope Carson Jones can start early and finish things properly this time.....
They actually turned pro two weeks apart, but Jones has more wear & tear since in much of that span he actually fought live bodies.
as opposed to Kell Brook's walking punching bags It's a shame.. Kell Brook should have been in a better position by now with a couple of decent names under his belt... instead he's got nearly 30 fights and not a single credible name atsch
With all due respect to Jackiewicz, N'Dou and Hatton (the elders council who round out his top five along with Jennings and Jone) - yeah, pretty much. That wasn't even the same Black Panther that got batted around by Canelo - or the same Braveheart that fought on close terms with Zaveck.
