Hated the stoppage at the time, but another 2 rounds and Kell would have been ruined

It was a great stoppage,shame about the eye but in all honesty it wouldn't of stopped Golovkin from upping his gear in the 5th would it,we don't know how good GGG is yet which is a scary thought?

 

That was a great stoppage by the corner, that is a very hard decision to make, and if the fighter doesn't agree with it, you can burn a bridge that will never be rebuilt, and create a reputation that other fighters will avoid.

A coach that puts his fighters health before his own interests should always be remembered for that, and be applauded by us fans.

Nobody expects their orbital bone to get smashed. Rewatching the fight, the towel was waved while Brook was still in the fight, not hurt at all. Obviously the fight was stopped because of the eye not because Brook was in trouble. It's boxing, it happens.

 

Too right. It's a shame Dominic Ingle was boo'ed by the crowd in the post fight in ring interview. I know Kell had a lot of support but they shouldn't be disappointing in the reasons or the timing of the stoppage.

 

What fight were you watching?? He was taking clean shots to the head and not throwing back. Just because he was taunting doesn't mean the shots were not affecting him or he was in any way winning the round.

Brook was not hurt. Stoppage was because of the eye. He'd have weathered the storm otherwise.

 

Brook was hurt when the fight was stopped. Not out on his feet, but he was getting hit with clean shot after clean shot. After minute and he wouldn't be standing.
