I do actually think sportsmen today are weak mentally, they should be able to overcome a little pain, the fact that they get injuries and then go on as if everyone should kiss it better, annoys me. There are people out there, in pain, every second of their lives, do they moan, do they complain? No, they're the silent ones, who just get on with it and fight it best they can. A footballer breaks a toe - Its the end of the world. A boxer has a stress fracture - An entire fight is in doubt. Bob Marley had a melanoma in his toe, after it got trod on by someones studs in a casual kick about. For years the man performed, the cancer spreading throughout his entire body, to all the organs, and he still performed, somehow finding the energy and will to carry on for as long as possible, so much so, people around him forgot about the toe, and thought he was alright, until he started to deteriorate. Kell Brook, are you a man or a mouse? You'll get a good reputation for yourself if you fight the fight, and come through the pain, and you'll earn the respect from a lot of people if you win it. Do you want to be remembered for something, or remembered for nothing?
Is it because Purdys with Hearn like Brook?For me,he's nowhere near earned a shot yet.Sure he'd take it if offered but IMO he'd do well to go the distance with Alexander,who's a class boxer and underrated as a puncher.Cant see Gavin or Vassell being named as mandatory either,neither of them has earned it.The best man Gavin has beat is Witter,a long way past his best.Vassell a bit of an unknown quantity,maybe hell earn a shot in the future.Looks classy,but has he beat anybody to warrant being near a shot?
