The man has dynamite in his fists. Left hook will crush the competition. You've been warned. Michael Jenkins? Fodder.
He better learn some chest to chin tuck because that style is not a good look in waters full of sharks.
He hasn't beaten a half decent live opponent yet, I wouldn't say the better guys he's beaten are in the top 5 British 147lb'ers. Yet he is #1 with the WBO - without beating a top 30 opponent atsch
Probably not, but I still hope! In all fairness he looks decent Brook. But as mentioned above, he needs to fight some decent level opposition to back up the claims of how good he is/is going to be
Yep I want the fight to happen because it has been mooted for so long but in all honesty Brook should dispatch Jennings pretty easily if he is to go onto big things. After that he needs some stiff Euro/Lower World level competition if he is to progress
I know it is stupid that I mention this considering I hardly make a decent knowledgable contribution to the Brit forum but seriously if people are going to start a new thread make it ****ing interesting and back up your argument. Not just a one sentance statement that sounds like a 5 year old in the play ground. Tell us why you feel this way, talk about the facts...just give us something to read other wise you are just clogging up the forum.
As much as I like Jennings, I think you're right. I think the manner in which Brook beats Jennings if they meet, will say a lot about him.
I doubt it very much. He has improved but his power is nothing special and his footwork is poor. He is too upright with too narrow a stance, meaning he has to lean his head back to try and slip shots, rather than move out of range properly. He will get tagged over and over again by half decent counter puncher. And he has been dropped by one of the journeymen he has fought for those exact reasons. His CV is not only incredibly thin on even durable journeymen but it is literally the most complete selection of non punchers I have seen on one fighters record. That suggests to me that they are worried by his chin. We saw the same with many Khan opponents, but in comparison to who Brook has faced, Khan was in there with lightweight versions of Julian Jackson. Seriously look through Brooks every opponent, I did it a while back and the combined number of stoppage wins between the lot of them was staggeringly low. The last fight was the first time he has fought anyone with any pop at all and that amounts to 16 stoppage wins in over 40 fights. I have seen him improve in fairness, but I think he has gone way too deep into his career with no tests to have ironed out mistakes and given him any useful learning curve. So he will go into a World Title fight having never even faced a top 5 domestic opponent who anyone who can punch.
Should fight Matthew Hatton for the Euro title and the Michael Jennings, then a few stiff euro defences. if all goes well he could make a move on the WBO, but if he struggles against Jennings and Hatton, he won't live up to his hype i'm afraid
