Thank you very much....My point exactly,Obviously Brook ended up with a broken face but what he did not do was sh1t himself and try to run and survive and just let GGG cut off the ring and sink in shot after shot..He stood in front of him and pick shots off and looked the better boxer....People said GGG didnt respect Brook so just sttod and took punches on purpose ,i didnt think that was the case and i think i was proved correct after seeing him do the exact same v Canelo ...His face/head was a bit of a mess ...Mayweather did not take a single punch off Canelo . GGG has a style a lot, even the majority of people who watch boxing like, its come forward and pressure looking ultimately for a k.o...What is not to like ? But for me he lost that fear factor that scared his opponents to death after he fought Brook
You could see Golovkin changed the way he fought in the 3rd round. He was very evidently head hunting and neglecting the jab once he nearly dropped Brook in the 1st. Brook can box so made him pay when he was being reckless, then when he reverted back to leading with the jab the fight went right back into Golovkin's favour. I don't understand the Mayweather comment at all. He obviously did get hit by Canelo, he's a defensive fighter (an ATG one at that) and Canelo has improved a Hell of a lot since then. The fear factor thing, maybe. That was absolutely the case in the rematch as Canelo was fighting much more offensively. Vanes had a go too to be fair to him but he should never have been in there to begin with.
The comparison with Mayweather is that he is tiny yet Canelo ,probably on juice, did not punch him once.....On the other hand GGG ,the hardest P4P baddest man on the planet looked like he had been in a butchers mincer and Canelo looked like he had been sparring ..... My point is for a long time i didnt buy into the GGG monster hype, knocking over a lot of scared mid level boxers does not take you into the Elite bracket... Who did he actually beat in 20 defenses?
Martin Murray was highly regarded/ranked before he stepped in with GGG. He wasn’t scared of him. Nor were Lemieux or Jacobs. All 3 were/are world level operators. That’s a side note though. Do you remember that huge cut that Canelo had on his left eyelid...you don’t get that from sparring. You talk as if Canelo beat him comprehensively...he didn’t. It was a razor thin decision that many scored to GGG. Arguably, he lost both fights.
He did punch him one, don't be so utterly ridiculous. Canelo didn't lose every round in that fight. Some mark up worse than others. He was marked quite badly after Monroe Jr if I recall. According to the vast majority of observers, he beat Jacobs and Canelo X 2. Which is pretty good going.
