I had tickets to see his last world title fight. When I told people at work I was going to see Kell Brook, nobody knew who he was. Everyone knows who Amir Kahn is. No wonder Kahn asked for 80/20. He's entitled to it IMO. And Im a Brook fan too. It just shows how much bigger Khan is in boxing by landing this bout with Canelo. He will make much more than 7m on offer against Brook.
Brook is going the same way as bomber Graham a very good fighter in bombers case hidden away in the north of England .brook needs to fight in the states and get his profile raised .big fights would follow. Whether brook is good enough to win the big fights remains to be seen.?
Source for making more than £7 million? Canelo' purse v Cotto was $5 mil guarantee. Cotto was $15 mil guarantee. You telling me Khan makes more than £7 mil and what does Canelo earn? £15 mil. Not a chance!!!
He does need to build his profile. I think he will eventually get there though. Some guys don't get the recognition until later in their careers.
Well, look at who Brook has fought. Then look at the relative gauntlet of who Khan has fought... I don't like Khan but the dude has fought like 13 or 14 former/future world titlists. I think he has legit avoided fights but for the most part he has been holding out hope for bigger paydays in more dangerous fights. Finally, he gets what he has wanted (ever since the Garcia starch).
