You don't get to make that decision for another person. Spence was coming down from what? His walk around weight? Not the same, nor close to what Brook did.

Fans can take any type of comment any way they want. I read the article that the snippet is from. He wasn't disrespectful towards Spence.

Spence would break his face at whatever weight 147, 154, or 160 all the same.

Fighters who go up in big weight increments find it difficult to come back down. Think RJJ.

He would have done better fitting Spence before getting the treatment from GGG. And no matter what any of you say, at least he had the balls to step onto that hotplate, bigger balls than almost all champions at the moment.

At least he is not blaming the eye. The silence is deafening from fan boys who up until now have said if not for the eye he would have won.

Didnt he deny that in the post fight interview and presser?...

I had alot of respect for him for not just taking the fight but also being gracious in defeat.

I bet eddie an his team are getting him to say this...

This is no way taking any credit from Spence.

Hearn before the Spence fight was announced was saying how he didn't want Brook to fight at 147lbs as it was too much hard work.

Brook did the right thing in the sense he could make the weight and fighting Spence as otherwise it would of looked like a duck. However Brook has no place at WW and regardless who the opponent is he should never boil down to WW again.

Just seen the Brook presser today obviously close to the 154 limit now, how the hell did he take another 7lbs off that frame!!

fighters make excuses, but it doesn't really mean much. They are paid to get in shape,, and the fact is they usually beat guys who are not as good, but then surprised, they fight a great fighter and somehow they are not in shape. And shock, they lose and we hear they were not in shape or drained. That variable of fighting a good fighter is usually ignored.

What's Brook's walk around weight then? 185lbs?

I don't think Brook is going out of his way to be disrespectful. However coming out with excuses to explain his defeat to Spence, instead of saying that Spence was simply superior, is unwittingly being disrespectful.

Like I said before, being drained at the weight doesn't cause a fighter to fall down on one knee and beg for mercy.

Brook simply quit in front of his Sheffield Support whilst he cowered before them. He felt the gut wrenching body shots and he felt the power of Spence and he wanted no part of it. He looked up and saw the prying eyes of his home fans, asking in their minds if he could come back from the adversity he found himself in the ring, and he choked.

That's the nuts and bolts of the story and we don't need to know anything else as Brook has form for these kind of excuses when things fail to go his way.

When he went life and death with Carson Jones in their initial encounter, he blamed nutrition. You can bet your life if he loses his next fight, it will be because of ring rust.

No one believes he was drained. I think nearly everyone
believes he took punishment from Golovkin that he
hadn't recovered from. Ultimately, Spence did
what he was supposed to do and even us that going
in thought Brook would win (that are realistic),
should give Spence credit where it's due.

Brook's problem is that he is way too stupidly brave... Both loses were cause he wanted to prove ... I have no idea what. Almost lost his eye and made the same mistake again - going against Spence. He could've chose much easier ways , didn't have to jump around the divisions or anything else... Props to him for his courage, not a bad guy but he was just outclassed.
