I disagree but that's not to say I support a cop out either. That said jumping weight classes up and down in consecutive fights really is bad for ones health and apparently orbital sockets.

decisioin making is part of what makes you a good boxer, if he made mistaskes then its because of his lack of ability to manage in boxing.

Spece should be expected of a world champion, its not to be applauded, its standard fare.

Brook got panicky and made the fight with GGG instead of just fighting the limited Jessie Vargas. Brook got greedy and wanted that 5 million and took a risk which ruined his career (broken eye socket). He easily could have beat Vargas, and then fought Spence on much more even grounds. I still believe that Spence would have beat Brook but Brook would have seen the 12th and lost a hard fought decision.

There is no way he can get back down to 147 for Khan.

Brook is huge for WW. He clearly was drained to an extent at 147. He obviously didn't know how he'd be able to perform coming back down from 160 until he tried. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I don't get the criticism. He didn't say anything negative about Spence. Just that dropping back down to 147 was a mistake, which it probably was.

I give the guy credit for having the balls to fight the likes of GGG and Spence and admit his mistakes.

You mean Vargas got greedy and priced himself out of the fight.

Youve lost track of the point.

Point of the post of mine you quoted, and of this thread is, he was probably drained.

Everything else is rather irrelevant to this specefic exchange and discussion. Im not talking his profile as a boxer... we are talking why he was likely drained.

And what I choose to applaud or not shouldnt concern you. In a sport filled with ducking, Ill applaud a fighter that decides to take on challenges regardless if that should be the standard.

Vargas was high risk, low reward.

GGG was ultra high risk, high reward.

You kinda can't be a "proud champion who never ducks anybody" and then in the same sentence say you regret fighting that one guy that once.

Kell Brook has one top tier victory his whole career (Shawn Porter). Only a couple wins against top 10 ranked guys.

You would think those numbers would be a whole lot higher based on the high regard this forum seems to hold him to.

I think its because he's a huge weight cutter. The forum seems to love guys who love having all the advantages.

a man whose first world level fight was his first title shot has not got a hisotry of taking on challnges regardless.

WHat hes got a history of now, is living off that win by selling himself off for multiple losses. Because he knows he cant do it again and he got lucky that Porter was weakazz.

He was highly over rated and has been exposed every time he stepped up.
