They ve wasted his career tbh. The worst decision making of a good fighter in recent memory...from the start. Held him at the same level for too long in the beginning. Then euro level for too long. Eventually got him to world level. Then took him back to euro level before putting him in an imposible fight. After that sticking him in with spence was just stupid.

Now hes on the verge on leaving the game with one win of note a contenscious one at that against porter. Who,s about a top 5 guy.

Think he was always overrated slightly because his skill levels very good. But he could have left the game with a very good career with a few big scalps along the way. Instead its been a bit of a disaster. Everything from here looks like its just gonna be downhill. Seriously annoying.

Still think the khan fight would have always been close. Brooks levels never really been a lot higher. Skill level yes but when you take into account all the attributes no for me. 50/50. 60/40 brook at best.

I think he needs 12 months out if he's serious about fighting again. Personally think he should retire now. The only thing I disagree with is Khan Fight Being 50/50. Brook to strong for Khan to last 12 imo. Bad bad gamble the GGG fight

    agreed....

Before and after the Porter fight the WW division was ripe for Brook to take over,or at least mix it with the best...Thurman himself said Brook wanted to fight him straight after Porter but his promoter wouldnt entertain it!!!
He should have been kept busy in top class fights then he would not have been getting into mischief either...

This tactic by Hearn of putting fighters in with bums then maneuvering them into title fights solely for a pay day is wrong imo...it is happening time and time again

I am Brooks biggest fan but i see no point of him carrying on to do more of the same..a couple fights against bums at 154 then having his face caved in by the champ...terribly miss managed and a great shame because he was the classiest fighter UK has had for a long time..

Harsh on Eddie Hearn I think. At least in some respects.

The GGG fight only happened cos the Eubank fight fell through and after than Eddie clearly wanted Brook to fight at 154, it was Kell who wanted to keep hold of his belt.

The match making before that WAS a bit off but even then there were mitigating factors. Thurman fighting Garcia, Khan ducking him, the stabbing etc.

Totally agree. Hearn has done a lot of good in british boxing got it buzzing again. But for every guy hes done well for hes got another guy hes hurt. And none more so that brook.

Porter was the breakthrough fight. From there it just went south in terms of opponents. Even if the very top guys we,re busy he had to get him good opponents at that point.

The big problem was hearn didnt want to take the hit paying a good opponent across knowing it wouldnt make the big profit hes after. Was crying out to take a hit on a show or two to make a big profit down the line. Instead he just never stepped up for his man. To make it worse chucked brook in against ggg. No decent promoter would agree to that fight. Helped to pretty much ruin brooks career imo.

Just seriously annoying. Brook had the tools all he needed was the right fights at the right time.

Badly let down from his team. Didnt help himself earlier in his career tho. Didnt start demanding these fights till he was left in a desperate position ill prepared for it. Apparently wasnt quite as dedicated as he should have been till the latter years.

Yeah looks stuck between a rock and a hard place atm. Badly needs the time off but it pretty much looks like the 154 division for him if he does. Can see it being harder up there against the bigger guys. I m not sure he achieves as much as his talent up there especially with the eye damage etc. Maybe is time to sack it. Or go for khan first.

    Ggg was an idiotic fight.

Honestly think khan surprises people in that fight. Can totally see how brook could win it comfortably. But also think khans handspeed offsets brook enough to make it close at least.

Brooks subtle footwork etc also causes khan nitemares. But think khan does a lot better than expected. And i hate khan totally aware of his vulnerabilities.

Still think they should make the fight.

i think the only way the Brook /Khan fight will happen is at catchweight of 150 ish....either way it is at least 2 years too late and more like 5 years too late....the pair of them have one way or another wasted the best boxing years of their lives that they wont get back...shame really

knowing Hearn he probably got Jesus Soto Karass and Jimmy Kelly lined up for Brook to set up the Worlds first BT/SKY PPV againt Liam Williams for Lonsdale belt

i do agree that on the whole Hearn been good for boxing but is he really experienced enough to tweak and enhance the careers of the very top boxers?...i dont think so.yet anyway

he is a miracle worker in other respects though...getting Paul Smith yet another title fight for example

Yeah totally agree. Combination of inexperience and always putting profit first before careers.

Dont want to deride eddie too much cause it could be worse but regarding brook its been a disaster.

Even regarding smith...his careers been a waste of time from start to finish. Maybe made a tidy sum out of boxing but will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. Could have had big domestic fights. Got to a world title on a good run of form with a great crowd behind him. Probably would always have lost but how it happened was he turned up with no support...with no run of form. And just cheated himself out of a proper career. You can get the money the right way while chasing some sort of glory. Different days nowadays...where the fighters need to sneak about trying to secure the best money fights regardless of how well suited it is for your career.

Both Hearn and Ingle need to take responsibility for the demise of Brooks career. Brook should have been no where near Golovkin.

True, We always knew Khan in terms of boxing skill is levels above Brook, Khan schools him all day.. Brooks has a punchers hope only , over 12 rounds only one winner.. Khan..
