Kell Brook successful surgery hopes to return to ring this year

Brook has been self-managed for years. He shouldn't blame others.

 

The problems been from the start tho even before eddie got involved. They kept him fighting at the same level for far too long. Even when they knew they had a very good fighter on their hands. Brook should have been fast tracked far quicker than he was.

Even golovkin. It was obvious eddie was over the moon he signed the contract. He makes it out it was brooks decision alone...but hes not really fooling anyone with that....just happy when the money comes in after it regardless of the outcome.

 

Well I just think that his own trainer should be telling him not to be getting in the ring with Golovkin.

Hearn sold that fight to Brook as a win-win but it didn't turn out that way did it?

I feel like I'm the only one who believes he'll have a renaissance at 154. He's still only a young lad with quality skills who imo was boiling himself down way too much at his age.

 

154 division is full of heavy handed punchers and his face will still be brittle @ 154lbs

Brook is huge @ 147, but tiny @ 154 next to Andrade, Jermell and Hurd, these guys are 6ft-6ft1, with frames that could easily head to 175 no bother

I can't see him making it 12 against any world class fighter unless you think a renaissance at 154 is beating Liam Smith??? Even then I doubt it, Smith is pretty rugged and may be too hard for Brook.

 

Brook is levels above Smith.

 

Yeah cant see him taking major scalps at 154. Theres a reason these guys are boiling down to make weight. When its time to move up in the latter years unless your a special talent...its time to start picking your fights carefully. The best part of your careers pretty much over imo. Thats what makes brooks career all the more frustrating. Simply didnt progress him fast enough.

For me its keep making 147 for the last few fights if its even possible. Maybe get khan to 150. That jump from 147 to 154 is a big one. Different frames on the guys at 154.

 

Bet kell wants to boil down again and get his hands on Jeff Horne lol.

I think Kell waved his true potential goodbye when he found his pen to sign for the GGG fight. But I'd still like to see what he can do at 154. And I don't think even Hearn would have the temerity to get him back on PPV any time soon.

Make no bones about it, Brook is exceptionally skilled. One of the most skilled fighters we have in the UK. And 154 is surely his most natural weight class.

I was chatting to a guy at the weekend who knows the team at Sheffield Uni. He was saying Kell has always been in the top brackets when being put through fitness and strength testing. He's a gifted athlete, and while I don't think he will ever hit the heights he might have done, it's very possible he could achieve something at 154.
