I don’t have a problem with brook coming back to fight for the British title against Harry scarff in a haye vs Thompson style thing. If he’s successful then why not fight benn or avanysan?
Johnny Nelson done an interview this week, basically said it’s a load of bollocks and Kell’s staying retired
Not so sure after that interview tonight, definitely didn’t deny it. Sky will be doing everything they can to get him back considering how crap their cards and stables are/is these days
I would hate to see that utter scrub Conor Benn beat up on a totally shot Brook, then to gob off about beating a "former world champion", I might actually vomit. What do these fellas do with all their cash? His win over Khan is the absolutely perfect way to bow out, not a fumbling loss to someone he'd have smashed in his pomp
If he does come back and it is against Benn, i just hope and pray he can roll back the years for one night only, ala Gomez V Arthur and beats the absolute living daylights out of the cheating *******.
He's coming back its just when I think. It's been rumored for awhile and he's always been a guy that's a bit too big for 147 and too small for 154 but since "retiring" he still looks in good shape. Even now It wouldn't take much for him to be weigh in ready I reckon. I don't think his body would hold to a hard fight but he wants it. He's admitted he misses fighting. I just think this has a Hatton come back written all over it. Flattened by someone who wouldn't have got close to him at his best. Benn would be a horrible fight.. Eubank meh. I want not so young Christopher to get a belt holder in the division and have a proper crack at one of them. He's a decent fighter had a good career up to the De Gale fight and Covid and then things stalled. Fairly recently beat two good fighters in Williams and Smith, (Took him two goes with Smith) but has some ability and I don't want to see him beating an old shot to bits Kell Brook up. Go fight Charlo and see what happens. It's a frustrating end to what at one point was a decent career just missing the world honors could peter out fairly easily.
Always been a fan of Brook, but imo he's left this too long now. Could he really give Eubank a competitive fight after over 2 years In retirement? Although i hope he could, i doubt it. On top of this being a money grab for Kell & his opponent (I don't blame them for this), doesn't this really highlight the bigger issue in UK boxing at this moment that all promoters fail to mention..........their are almost zero ticket selling ppv fighters coming through at all. All we have are the remnants of the 2015-2020 golden era being recycled time after time and what is left of these is no longer a big draw unless matched with another big name. All these are now at max a few fights from the end, then what? Promoters simply wouldn't be pushing for fights like this get made if they had star talents in their stables capable of producing big ppv numbers.
