How is Porter a good win? Who did he beat of note prior to losing to Kell?

Very good point actually. Wierd logic on here sometimes. Porter actually has a draw against that diaz that everyone slated khan for struggling with. Even porters rematch with diaz was a close one. Porter then goes on to beat devon alexander in a fight a lot of people had him losing. Remember thats the guy that gets slated when it comes up khan completely shut him out. Think porter fought him the fight before khan did. Then porter beats mallinaggi. The guy khan beat 4 years prior to it.

I dont think him drawing with diaz even comes up. Or the pretty competetive second fight.

Theres nothing to suggest brook takes khan apart with ease. Maybe styles but i think people are not bringing khans style into the equation in this fight. Go through and look at brooks record...its all either british or euro class. With porter...being his only real decent win. People are making out he destroys pacman. Mayweather etc because of it. But is porter even as good a win as everyone suggests. Hes up there in the division...but so is amir khan. Garcia. Brook. Thurman. Pacman etc. Its not like brook completely blitzed him.

Brook is a class fighter. I always fell into the camp that believe Khan would outpoint Brook comfortably at 147. But after seeing their last three fights and 2016 in particular I firmly believe Brook stops him early. Same old story with Khan, he'll win a few rounds and then get timed. Brook after Mayweather is probably better than Garcia as the best precision counterpuncher at 147. And seeing his resilience against GGG - Khan's powderpuff shots would just bounce off him.

Brook is quality. I just hope people realise that he is on a bucketload of drugs as a fighter.

Different type of counterpunchers garcia and brook. Brook pretty much uses his feet to counter you. Whereas garcias come more from working you out. Is there a chance that brooks counter punching could be negated. I d say more of a chance than garcias were. Its actually pretty hard to counter amir. Hence the reason some actually thought he d beat mayweather.

The main success against amir is the opponents take his shots then pressure him. Theres only so many shots he can throw to fend them off. His footworks not good enough. Its getting better under hunter. But using his footwork also brings its own problems for him. Hes trying to box a bit more...it opens him up to the counter shots a bit more also. I still say khan was more effective under roach. Brook would struggle with a roach trained khan. Was starting to look like a world class fighter prior to losing to garcia. Which was down to his own stupidity. Was hitting him with everything but got too greedy in the exchanges. Something Roach continually told him in between rounds not to do it.

Anyway. Brook will struggle with that speed like everyone has. The main problem with brook in this fight is hes not a pressure fighter. Plus he might not be able to get off first with khan. Its allright saying counter him but if hes throwing two, threes and fours its not quite so easy. Plus brook doesnt have the one punch power of canelo garcia or even prescott.

Right up until the Porter fight, Brook had to do it the hard way. He wasn't given many favours on the way up to build himself. This is why he resents Khan so much. He sees Khan as someone who had it easy. Got all the recognition from day 1 and easily walked into big fights.

Up until Porter I don't think you can fault what Brook did in his career. After that fight he was rightly praised for the manner in which he won a world title. He showed so many attributes I think most people who followed him thought he would go on and make a huge impact on the WW scene.

Since Porter there have been a few things that have messed things up. Getting stabbed, chasing Khan, fighting GGG to name a few.

If after Porter he fought Thurman, Garcia, Khan and Spence, I think this thread would be very different. He might not win them all (although as an admittedly biased Brook fan I think he would), but either way I'm sure he would have proven beyond doubt he is a world class operator.

It sounds like he's now going to do what he should have done over 2 years ago, and really go after the big names in America at WW.

What has brook done to base this off. His best win is porter...who he beat on the back foot. He certainly never walked him down. Same with carson jones. Carson actually pushed him back . The only two real names of note on his resume.

Khans not a great fighter. Hes a flawed fighter. His boxing brain will never be near the world class level...regardless hes still a difficult proposition if your not a pressure fighter or a very hard punching counter puncher that works him out. If your usung your feet against khan to counter him bearing in mind khans length...reach/height you could be in for a hard nights work.

Brook is the best welterweight on the planet according to Hearn and many on here based on one good win against Porter. Instead of moving up to middleweight to get his face caved in against Golovkin he maybe should have asked Hearn to secure a competitive fight at 147?

Pacquiao is still easily much better than him for a start

So you think brook is going to respect khans none existent power you really believe khan can keep brook honest
    Length on brook OK
I swear delusion is a son of a bitach see how many people are now flipping the coin to brook lo!
Anyone who thought khan ever beat brook needs their head looking at or dksasb

I'm sick of hearing fast hands
Khan as a gifted ranking for his charitable worfk from the wbc other than that there is absolute ly nothing
    He brings no gate receipt
    No TV network
    No belt
    No ranking
Even last opponents faced its kell not khan
And no prime absolutely nothing just collecting a paycheck which will be off the back of kell and eddie

Thats just stupid. Khan has been in a lot of very entertaining fights. Brook has a sky deal but needs someone big to get the big ppv figures. Theres no point having titles sky deals if you cant get anyone decent to fight you. In that regard brook needs khan...to maximise his revenue. Khan still a bigger name than brook with the casuals in britain.

Regardless...the one thing people need to realise in that fight is brooks isnt all that a big puncher himself. Its allright stopping euro level guys but hes far from the big puncher people are making him out to be. To add to that hes not a pressure fighter either plus relies on his footwork to counter as opposed to timing.

Big fan of the ingles and if truth be told a big fan or kell brook. But the ingle style is pretty unique. Its deadly against some styles but others not so much. I think speed is one of them. It relies on fast reflexes. But what happens when the other guy is actually faster than you.

Really? Sure about that? It was a long time ago but I remember watching that fight and can't think why anyone would have Porter losing, Alexander looked hurt and lost at the end of that fight.

Brook just fought GGG I ain't getting any bigger you think the Brits would rather see khan who sold 0 last time in Sheffield or GGG who sold London out in seconds stopped reading right there I'm afraid
