Let's see him in a real fight before we judge him. It's a lot easier to look good against b-level and washed up fighters.
You obviously know very little about British wartime inventions and creativity. I suppose being directly involved in bringing stuff like tanks, aircraft carriers, and later special operations like the S.A.S (the guys who wrote the book and taught early U.S groups), the bouncing bomb, the jet engine, the advanced Rolls Royce engine, huge advances in communications, materials, radar, and the infrastructure used to create the mobile docks used on D-Day (something that meant allies got all their heavy equipment into France), are just inconsequential? I don't suppose you know that British scientists played a huge role in the Manhattan project? You know, that thing Americans claim credit for but which was filled with Germans, Jews, Brits, and others. Even their great WW2 fighter only became the legend it did because of the Rolls Royce engines i mentioned earlier. Believe me, no nation on earth, not even America, was as innovative as Britain for 200+ years, both before and even after both wars.
Maybe you took my "inability to innovate" a little too broadly. I was applying it to layman. A regular joe. Not titans of industry.
Colonizing the world and stealing the resources and wealth of those colonized for centuries sure does help.
This is a gross over exaggeration of British "innovation" just for the sake of nationalism. When it comes to "Wartime inventions and creativity" as you put it, the US was (and still is) the forefront of military technology since it emerged a superpower out of World War II. Those primitive tank designs you speak of were actually first made effective by the Germans and later the US. In fact, US military technology for ground, naval and air superiority far exceeded the capability of any other nation on earth for much of the last century. That includes "huge advances in communications, materials, radar" that's so obviously a pinnacle of US military technological prowess that resulted in advanced stealth aircraft and fighter that no other country has been effectively able to replicate (including the EF2000). It's funny how you want to overplay Britain's role in some of these projects, just as other countries do like Canada. I've read commentaries on how WW2 would have been lost without their help. Or the over exaggeration of Indian contributions at NASA. Everyone wants their recognition which is fine, but know your true place. It was American innovation that drove 20th/21st century military technology, starting with computing and supercomputing prowess which is still driven primarily by US semiconductor industries today. As weakened as we are now because of cuts and a lack of an equal nemesis, our military programs are still driving the future including a few black box projects right on the bleeding edge of physics.
lol...accuses me of nationlism then goes on a massive rant about U.S exceptionalism. Also, you are wrong on multiple points, but I'm not writing an essay refuting you...do your own research. P.S we were talking about the two world wars, principally. Britain was at the forefront of everything I described, if thar bothers you too bad.
we just make things better, its the american way. we will take whats yours, and make it better. americanize it. we will take your arabian horse and make a thoroughbred out of it. take your fighting dog and make a pitbull out of it. sweeter fruits, larger vegetables, fatter cows, bigger houses,, etc... anything we take an interest in, we make better. truth is, its just our time. our people have more resources for the average joe to pursue whatever it is he thinks he can improve on. and success is rewarded.
Hmmm.... technology wise I reckon you're right, there are a lot of things America does worse than the rest of the world though, for example, cars, food, healthcare, the american sports are not as popular in the rest of the world, etc.
Typical American... Woooooo, wooooo, yehhhhhhhh... Wooooooo We're the best, blah blah blah... USA babayyyyy... It's funny and they don't even realise
They think the rest of the world sees them very differently to how the rest of the world actually sees them. It is quite amusing though, you're right.
