my take as someone who cant stand brook, would have like to see him in with someone with abit more skill like jones or berto ortiz winner, but i will give him his props if he wins. even though clottey has been very in active,

Clottey is basic but more 'skilled' than any of those guys IMO.

He also lacks a big dig, fights at a slow pace, isn't quick and lacks a high punch output.

And he'll be ****ed at the weight, taking the edge off the fact he'll be big on the night and stunting his effectiveness further.

Underwhelming. A 'name contender' but not even a particularly relevant one. Am I right in thinking he's fought once since Pac', sparking a no-hoper?

It will go down well with the casuals. Surely spun as a World Title warm up, against a recent Manny Pac opponent no less, the casuals will ****in' lap that **** up

Would be another step up for Kell so would be decent. Agreed though that he could maybe do, in terms of his development at that level, facing someone with more skill but weaknesses in other areas. N'dou, Jackiewickz, Hatton, now possibly Clottey... definately stepping up in class but all against a similar type of opponent (tough and fit).

Could otherwise be a shock for him if he then steps in with someone who can match his skill.

In all seriousness, I've got little interest in seeing Brook face a limited, most probably badly drained middleweight like Clottey.

There are plenty of other options.

If they fight surely it would be at light-middle, Clottey was cutting 20lbs to make welter years ago

At least its a step up in class anyway. Clottey isn't a bad operator but at this stage of his career at welter you'd wonder whats he got left?

He's a big guy but I can't recall him every showing anything above a solid dig against the top fighters. I guess it could show us whether or not Brook is that good but I'd prefer a stylistic challenge over a possible punchers chance. Then you've only tested yourself against one thing. Clottey has a solid jab and a tight guard, but speed can penetrate it and he can be shoved off course pretty easily as he's drained and can't keep much momentum going.

    My point exactly.

Brook stopping him would speak more of how far along Clottey is down hill.
