Clottey can get diarrhea again, he'll make it to 147 with sheer ease...

I'd be very surprised if Brook stopped him.

Good fight. To be honest if this fight is made it's better than i was expecting.

If Clottey can make weight without draining himself too much, i'm going out on a limb and picking him to win this. Even with his awful disposition.

  4. When he bothered to throw a punch against Pacquiao he was quite effective, it must be said.

I wonder sometimes how good he actually is/was, given that he always knew which side his bread was buttered with Uncle Bob.

Ian Darke's constant ''he's showing amazing heart.....'' comments against Pacquiao were pretty sickening. I'd gladly take a pounding from Pacquiao for x millions of dollars, and be nice before and after.

I would prefer a more daring challenge like a Mike jones or maidana? Clottey is a tough-strong contender and proved it with standing against the best, his offensive tools are quite average ( unless you count his head).

It's a very good fight, Clottey's guard is difficult to penetrate and he has a fantastic jab and ability to land extremely good combinations. He's a big enough WW to cause Brook not only early trouble but test his defence and be there for 12 rounds and take rounds and make Brook fight!. He may step to Brook behind the shell and force him back.

He's been in with the best, this is a dangerous fight for Brook. He can win it but he'll need to work a lot on defensive aspects and working the body. He tends to overlook that and head hunt!.

My first reaction was that this is a decent fight. Clottey is a basic, but solid fighter. Can be lazy, but doesn't do much wrong technically, and is tough (yeah I know). His work rate was always going to be a problem against someone like Pacquiao, but Brook himself is also a lazy fighter don't forget.

However, it does depend on how Clottey is at the weight. It could turn out to be a **** fight if he's not comfortable. Also, as flea mentioned, what has he done since Pacquiao?

On paper it looks a good fight. In reality, it could be a bit anti-climatic.

It seemed as if every time he threw against Pac he landed. I actually gave him 2 or 3 rounds based on cleaner, more effective punches. I don't know if this says more about Pac's defensive flaws though to be honest. Pac does have a tendency to take a few on the inside. Especially uppercuts.

That's a good fight and a risky one for Brook. I remember Clottey giving Cotto a good fight, if he was a bit more agressive he could cause Brook (at this stage of his career) some trouble.

I really think this is a decent fight. I haven't seen anyone in this thread who would be better that is available for this date except for Maidana who has options at 140

Pacqiuao was really inviting Clottey to hit him in that one though.

As for the Maidana comments, this is certainly a better fight than that.

Bbb...but Kell beat Matthew Hatton? Surely this will just be a walkover?

Nah seriously, it's a decent fight. Clottey is the world class test Brook needs to have before we can really give a proper judgement on his potential. I'd quite happily see it, although if it's going to come about due to Clottey compromising himself in cutting too much weight, perhaps there would be a better option out there.

  15. Unless Brook is pushing himself to make 147 and they're making a move to 154?
