On the upcoming SKY tripleheader, for which many people will tune in solely to see the rematch between Grzegorz Proksa and unlikely conqueror Kerry Hope and which features another tantalizing rematch between Gavin Rees and Derry Matthews...this actually stands a chance at being the FOTN, given the styles matched up.

This is a bit of a step up for "The Special One" after having it pretty much his way for a while during his undefeated rise, against a solid vet who's been on quite a nice little run. For the American, nicknamed "Kid Carson", it's a chance to parlay that recent success into a possible title bid if he can score the upset.

    Recent form from Kell...

    Recent form from Carson...

    Jones vs. Said Ouali:

    Jones vs. Ricardo Williams:

Most recently, he stopped Allen Conyers (famed for his brief crazy knockdown-filled war with James Kirkland, and for popping the cherry of decent prospect James De la Rosa). Prior to Ouali, he'd stopped a couple of other longtime fringe contenders in Michael Clark and Germaine Sanders for a total of five respectable B- level wins in less than a year.

And who could forget perhaps his greatest service to the sport, ending the hype of Valero-record-breaker Tyrone Brunson? :yep

Brook is the finer athletic specimen and holds the advantage in about every category - except tough-fight experience and probably grit. Two factors that have earned many an underdog their day.

It also can't hurt that Carson has been used of late as a primary sparring partner for Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and other top talents at Big Bear. :think

saying that i hope brook pulls through so khan can end him, but i honestly think this is too much of a step up for him and is highly overrated.

Kell will pick him off pretty easily. Carson's defence is too leaky.

Brook is a level above Jones & stops him at some point, probably in the 2nd half of the fight

Really looking forward to this :bbb

Brook should beat Jones by UD. Carson Jones lost a ud to Jesus Soto Karass. Which should tell you how good Jones is. He's not that good. All the guys he fought after Jesus Soto Karass were levels lower than Jesus.

I think Carson rallies late to get the stoppage.

Are you so sure JSK wouldn't give Brook a difficult time? :huh

I think he would give him a fight in the early rounds, but Brook would eventually figure him out and comfortably win a UD. Karass is very one dimensional, and i believe Brook is better than Mike Jones and Carson Jones.

I'd say his attributes surpass Carson Jones. In boxing ability, Ring IQ, and almost everything really. The only factor which will play it's part is in the early goings of the fight. The first 5 rounds.

I'm willing to bet on Kell Brook to win by UD.

OK, you aren't exactly going out on a limb there.

The only thing I'd take exception with is the idea that losing to JSK (who can be described as a high-level gatekeeper) means that one isn't any good at all.
