so let me get this straight, if your an attraction you should stay at home and not travel, thats your logic? even sturm traveled once, he got jobbed but he still travelled.

Calzaghe - only went over for his last 2 fights when he was massive and took a decent following over.

Hatton - was massive in the UK and had a proper following that was willing to travel to the US for his fights

Froch - no UK tv interest, not a real draw over here due to having a **** promoter and was guaranteed good money for at least 3 fights by the Super Six.

Khan - signed with a US promoter and got a HBO deal. Not really a draw in the UK so went over to pick up HBO's inflated paychecks. And the only fight where there was a sizeable crowd was the Peterson one. And that's cos Peterson was the home fighter - and look what happened there...

Why should Brook go over now? He loses to Alexander and all the momentum that he's being building up over the past year is gone. Brook's not at the stage of his career where he's getting a US tv deal, he'd just be an opponent for Alexander.

Even if Brook wins there's no guarantee he'll be asked back by HBO/Showtime. He's gaining a following in the UK and once he's big enough over here he'll be ready to make the move across. It's all about timing.

It's worked brilliant for him, he's raking the money in ;)

If Sturm hadn't got jobbed against DLH then maybe we'd have seen him in the US more often. And the fact is HBO and Showtime aren't really that keen on having Sturm on their network.

Bradley ducked Khan to fight Pacquiao :think

And many of Khan's UK fights weren't sell outs. IIRC even the McCloskey fight didn't completely sell out the MEN and that was meant to be a homecoming :rofl. Sky don't even want him on PPV ffs.

mcclosky was around 18000, thats not bad, especially for someone who isnt a draw according to you. and there was no pac fight for bradley when he ducked khan, he just didnt want to extend his contract with gary shaw for 1 fight.

and he got a good deal with sky in the end, 1 mill minimum 3 fights win or lose, not too bad.

Brook v alexander wouldnt be a great fight the styles wouldnt gel i dont think it would be a classic but like groves v degale it may keep you interested just because you know they both have the ability top change the fight in an instant id hold brook the slight favourite because i think hes the heavier and more correct puncher but alexander has been in with better company.

This fight was discussed in the same way as I discussed with my wife going to Brazil for 6 weeks in 2014 on my own to watch the world cup...we talked about it in a theoretical sense both fully knowing that there was no way she was going to rubber stamp it. Kell Brook has got to understand that he aint going to get decent ranked fighters over here in Sheffield, not now, not ever.
