Kell Brook vs Errol Spence Jr. prediction thread.

If that's how you assess both fighters, why would your predicted result shock the world?

 

Brook by KO rounds 6 - 8.

Spence is a good fighter and is showing a lot of courage travelling to England for this fight against a top welterweight. I envisage a brutal beatdown like Froch against Bute.

Spence has a great opportunity to pull off a star making performance but I just don't see that happening fighting Brook in England.

 

In a live environment that may be true, in sparring with headgear on that power is not felt to the full effect. If it was boxers would be bruised and battered before their planned fights. I think Brook at 154lbs beats both brothers anyhows, by knock-out. This Charlo power is slightly exaggerated.

154lb Brook is stronger than anything either Charlo brother has been in the ring with before. Ask GGG if Brook's power carries up, it did to 160lbs, its more suited to 154lbs.

I feel this is has slight advantage to Brook. I heard rumours that Spence will not engage early into his usual
inside/body shot/close infighting game but try to box brook in the middle of the ring. The idea to take some of
brooks steam out of him and then start moving in and really targetting the body and look to break Brook down late.
Problem i find is that spences strengths are his mid/close range game. To do that he will need to move inside and Brook will clip him on the way inside everytime. Brook has great timing and sharp jab and right hand and it may be his savour in the fight. At long range brook is good enough to dominate but mid-close range spence has advantages.
Problem is spence will need to take a shot or 2 to get off on his shots. We still don't know if spence has a good chin. My issue with brook is has he done the weight well? can he match spences work-rate as pot shotting isn't going to maybe win him the close rounds. So for me it depends essentially on spence can take brooks shot if he can like bundu and algeri then brook is in for a hard hard fight. As i am sure with Brooks sharp punching/timing spence will have to take a hard shot at some point and brook normally follows up with his shots.

 

I read the Brook camp compared Spence to Lacy. That's either just insulting him, or a huge miscalculation.
Completely overhyped duds only come by ever so often, and if they really believe Spence is one, then they're in for an unwelcome surprise.

But I guess they just wanted to put that completely grey comparison out there, as some kinda insult and to hide their insecurity about the outcome.

Brook being drained is pure speculation at this point. Hopkins managed to box at both 160-175lbs whenever he wanted to. Brook looks like he'll make weight perfectly fine judging from most of the rumours about his weight in the run up to this fight. Looking at the video above which was posted just today he looks to be more than ready for the fight. He looks about 3lbs over the limit in that video.

Brook has worked himself into a hole which he cannot climb out of. He was quite prepared to go back to 147 to fight Khan but could not handle being the b side which left him going to 154 where he is just another contender or face Spense. Some people just don't realise how good Spense is. He is the best ww right now and will confirm it within his next 2 or 3 fights. The poll has Brook well in front but these guys are not putting their money where their mouth is. Spence was 1.74 a month ago then down to 1.62 last week and 1.55 now so come on you Brook guys how about loading up on Brook so I can get better odds on Spence or is it a case of picking with your heart and national pride but being too afraid to put your hard earned on Brook if you are picking with your head.
