Kell Brook vs IKE Quartey (Jab war)

Kell's got a great jab but its not as good as Ike's was, in the Park fight he literally broke his face & ended his career with the most destructive display of jabbing I've ever seen

Its a shame Kell didn't jab Porter's body more often, it looked very effective the few times he threw it

 

Brook vs Quartey, Brook vs Leonard, Brook vs Jesus, Brook vs Muhammad(Prophet), Brook vs Ali, Brook vs Hagler and Hearns on the same night, Brook vs Holmes in a jab war....etc

This is what happens when British fans finally get a fighter who scores a significant win over an American fighter. The last significant win was 2006's Calzaghe vs Lacy which British fans are still hung over about.

 

Maybe a new thing to people who aint seen brook but us brits been saying his jabs a true weapon for years. Would of liked to see another shot he uses sometimes, a kind of right hook, similar to the right hand floyd was throwing vs cotto, kind of a looping right hand. Think that could of troubled porter too. Seen him live too and you can hear the thudding of shots when he lands. Very powerful welter, porter showed he's got a great chin though, took some flush shots.

Ike had the greater jab, is the better overall fighter.

 

It wouldn't be terrible but the outcome isn't even slightly in question.

They all do, plus a few more. (prime Dzinziruk, Kessler at his unbeaten peak, even Taylor when he was middleweight champ, etc)

Brook's is up there with the best at present, however.

yeah, i mean, it's not like Joe beat Hopkins in 2007 or anything. so you're right, a British fighter hasn't had a significant win over an American since 2006.
