Rose is backed into a corner and does a good job bouncing his spine off the turnbuckle and repositioning himself on the ropes. Rose slides his way laterally along them and then turns out to get free in the middle of the ring. Counter 1-2s by Rose. Big straight desperation combos by Rose, thudding into Maciel's skull. The crowd is going wild. They're slugging inside. Uppercuts by Maciel. Both look arm weary. Jab by Rose stepping outside. They step together and grind chests. Rose shoves Maciel out. Jabs and crosses by Rose. Maciel blocks some jabs with his glove turned in on his forehead. Maciel hops in place on the outside, gathering his breath. Rose backs up and pops the left jab. Maciel walks into a loud jab on the mouth. Overhand right by Maciel from outside, grazing.

Maciel is putting up jabs from a crouch and whipping right hands over the top from too far outside. Rose is taking his turn offensively, coming forward behind the jab leaning down and following with rights and hooks before straightening up. Rose is coming forward now if not quite pressuring, still wary of Maciel. Rose is boxing nicely on the outside, keeping off Maciel's jab. Wild slaps at the body by Maciel jumping in. Cuffing right hand over the neck by Maciel as Rose dips down into him. Split by the ref. Wild uppercuts by Maciel, slower of hand than he was before. Rose is jabbing from outside and lining Maciel up for counter uppercuts. Rose is bleeding profusely from the nose and has been since the eighth but seems to be breathing fine. Jab by Rose.
