Watch this...if this is true and I still find it difficult to believe. How on earth did he ever get down to 147....losing 2 stone in a camp sure. Maybe a bit more...but 5 stones to get to 147 ? Seems way too much. Anyway the video - see @ 2:17-2:26. This content is protected Even if as expected GGG gets the win and probably by KO...can Brook really get back down to 147 ? He mentioned in a recent IFL TV interview just a few days ago that getting to 147 is really hard and he is always waking up in the night from his sleep because his body is starving and screaming out for food. This also makes me wonder if this whole weight draining thing fighters do to make weight is just madness anyway. They're trying to be bigger men fighting at smaller weights to gain an advantage (should be illegal IMO anyway!) but big weight drains actually seems to drain them of most of their strength getting down to weight anyway. I know they rehydrate 24hrs before the fight but is it really an advantage at the end of it all ?
Don't be completely stupid dawg! if these fighters can make 147 thats their weight, fat isn't lean mass, if you got a bmi of brook his lean mass would be below 147 anyone can put on fat, just ask hatton, doesn't mean that's his weight
I'm not believing that. Cyborg in UFC cuts over 40lbs and so does Cat Zingano, but I just don't buy that someone cuts 70 lbs and still was able to go the distance like his fight against Porter. If he's doing it, props to him, but I need proof.
I don't think so, however I think it is correct that he has had his last fight at 147. Lets hope there's something left of him after saturday, because he can be in some good fights at 154 and 160 in the future.
That isn't quite accurate as Brook gets fat when not fighting so 15.5 stone isn't really his walkaround weight at all. If Brook didn't pig out I think he would probably walk around about 165lbs
Well thats probably how Hatton used to weigh 200lbs...but even then, Hatton was legitimately fat between fights. That number just seems too high for Brook
bull. you put 200+ lbs of mass on a frame the size of brooks, whether its muscle or fat, its going to look very obvious.
Show me a picture of Brook weighing 15 stone (210 pounds), or even 14 stone (196 pounds) ....... I reckon it's bullsh!t. As has been said, on his height and frame that would be an obvious load of weight. He'd look positively fat, in an obese way.
