It's a a pity Khan couldn't bare the shame of possibly losing to a fellow Brit, so he chased unwinnable fights like the Alvarez one. Never liked Khan. It was absolutely criminal that he ducked Brook for so many years.
For a fight that a lot of people were calling as 50/50 it was shockingly one sided. I actually thought Kahn was going to win because Brook was the more shot of the 2 but no, he just walked him down and brutalised him for 6 rounds.
Brook trained for it like it was his first ever title shot, khan trained for it like it was his last payday
I know khan has definitely lost a step or two but he never would have beat a big strong welter like kell, can you imagine what Walters like porter would have done to khan? Kell always bested khan, 100% always said it , always knew it. To big, to strong for him at any age.
Do worry for brook actually I get he did well last night but maybe just me I thought Khan looked absolutely done and thought kell missed with lots shots and not able put him down even when he was completely gone after a jab speaked volumes how much he has declined. Genuine feel he looked better as Khan was so shot. (I wanted kell to win and think always would have. Just don't think he looked great as most making out. Hopefully he retires now )
I think it was just bravery and heart that kept Khan up, rather than a lack of finish/power from Brook. Khan was slippery and Brook couldn't land too cleanly on him. Also Khan did keep getting saved by the bell in alot of the early rounds.
Easy to say this after the fact, no one was saying this in the build up. At the end of the day the match was decided on who was more shot
Brook was always better than Khan but Khan cheated Brook out of that extra level of stardom and status Brook was always better, better coordination, skills, toughness, intelligence, Ring IQ, power, chin, timing. Brook beats Khan yesterday, today, tomorrow, ten years ago and twice on Sunday!
Where was Amirs heart on saturday night. I never saw it. Brook wanted it far more! Brook was vicious and just would not be denied. Khan would not fight fire with fire with Kell. Khan look scared even in the ring walk. He was too scared to exchange, kept running away, and often threw combos that were out of range. He also pretty much stopped throwing punches which made him look like he didn't want to be there anymore. At the end Khan’s body language said “please make it stop!'
