Make no mistake, his corner saved him from a potentially devastating knockout that would have cost him his career, or worse.

Kell was buzzed and dazed in that round and offered no resistance, he was getting hit repeatedly, and rapidly deteriorating by the second.

Those angry at the stoppage should really be thankful, we could have had a tragedy in the next round. Possibly the next few seconds.

    Of course.

As I said in the other thread, it was like the Stevens fight but Stevens is naturally larger than Brook. Any hope Brook had at that point in the fight (like Stevens later in the GGG fight) was long gone and the beat down was commencing.

Brook was going to get systematically destroyed. Think Chavez-Taylor here.

No need to get the guy killed. He still has a career and life to think about.

    Just look at Mel Taylor.

We don't need more fighters like that.

    Brook's corner was smart.

He was taking a lot of punishment in that 5th and it was getting progressively worse with each passing second. So yeah it was just a matter of time. Brook showed a damn good chin though, he took Golovkin shots and was still there, Golvokin was going to have to grind him down to stop him.

I think he may have survived the round, but it was only a matter of time... Also his corner knows him better than we do.

    Lol.

Did you miss the 40 seconds at the end of the fight while ingle was trying to get the ref's attention, where Kell literally stood in one place, didn't throw a punch and GGG still couldn't land anything devastating?

Fighters as slick as Brook can get stopped but rarely get KO'd in devastating fashion.

They did the right thing though. Even though he was much the better fighter, he wasn't going to overcome the size difference. He has big things ahead of him.

    of course

he was playing with kell brook

in round 5 he decided enough, is enough and decided to walk him down

in the post match he said he didn't feel brook's punches and brook isn't a middleweight

hearn conned all the fans yet again and brook fans think he took ggg into deep waters with his pitty pat punches
    @mw

Ingle did the right thing. Instead of seeing Brook get KTFO , he took all the boos on him

Brook for sure is gonna thank him
He can still look like a hero

Good to see some posters with brains for once. GGG had him hurt in the first and took his foot off the gas and let Brook tee off a bit. Then decided enough was enough and put him away.

He was on his way out. I guess people feel robbed of a conclusive ending to an entertaining fight.

He was on spaghetti legs in the first, after the first power punches. GGG carried him, he only put his foot on the gas on 5 and we seen how that went

I'm not sure it was heading towards a KO. Brook was holding himself together very well.

But it seemed like he stopped throwing and was just focusing on taking it.

I can see a Golovkin UD being a distinct possibility.

Seven more rounds of Brook just getting hit in the head.

Brook suddenly gassed, he says he has a broken eye socket, but let's be fair Brook was doing well up until the 5th round but the weight and power told in the end, watch the last round again, Brook stopped throwing punches, started back peddling and it looked like it was only a matter of time before Brook was dropped, it was a mercy stoppage by his corner and a very good stoppage.

Don't be ridiculous.. GGG did not let kell land him with shots. Kell gave him some problems.

Kell showed some serious skill tonight
