I think there'd be a few fighters willing to take the risk of facing Brook - he is ranked #1 with the WBO.... despite having not really earned it. Unless they are being low-balled or being forced to sign daft contracts they'd be mad to turn the chance down. Watson would fight him in a heartbeat, but he isn't an attractive opponent because of those three losses. I'm not convinced Williams can make 147 safely, I'm not sure who they'll line up for him next and I'm not convinced that Brook would take the fight if offered. Williams doesn't really bring much that would be of any benefit to Kell at this stage. Sure he's a name in America but a nobody here, he's a weight hopper that doesn't seem fussed about world titles so there's no angle there...... and he's ****ing good too!
I hope nobody is seriously mentioning Paul Williams for Kell Brook :rofl:rofl:rofl It should be Brook vs Matt Hatt...then he winner of that can maybe talk about Berto. But iv got a funny feeling that Ricky Hatton has already got Berto in the bag for Matthew. I reckon hes just waiting for Berto vs Ortiz to be over and then they'l announce it. Its just what Matthew wants to be honest, HBO would have it because he wasnt disgraced vs Alvarez, and it keeps in line with Bertos policy of bum fighting. Hatton vs Berto...July/August this seems quite realistic to me
Or takes a high risk assignment, either on short notice or for short money. If he loses he can always try again - that's something that many Brits don't realise.... whether it be promoters, trainers or maybe even fighters themselves. Look at Williams himself, made to look a mug by Quintana, stretched him in the rematch, then had to fight Martinez on short notice when Pavlik did a runner, then Kermit the Frog, then laid out by Martinez. Brook should just follow Froch's example. It's not as if he's going anywhere following his current path, other than 50-0 (40) and the privelege of saying he's boxed on a lot of big shows.
Brook has been pretty inactive . The amount of times the Jennings fight was called off was ridiculous . You have to wonder whither its Frank not getting him the fights or Brook not taking them when there offered . Are there not rumours also of Brook being less than dedicated in training plus the pub fighting incident . It may be that Franks got fed up with him and decided to use his time and money elsewhere
I'd like to see you say that to his face You'd probably be spending the rest of your days talking in the same manner
