I want to discuss the prospects our young British welter Kell Brooks can bring to the table. Where does he go from here?? The next step will be to win the European title, but should he go for some of the world talent first and hit the division early?? Before anyone gets on my back i'm not saying he would win, but Berto vs Brook is an interesting one for me. To me also he seems like a fighter that could easily move up to light middle, would he make an impact in a higher weight class??
Truth fully i only seen 30 - 40 seconds of kell brook. and 20 of those seconds where him running around cheering with some guy lying on the floor. I think right now he should fight someone like alfonso gomes or noberto bravo, both are solid contenders/gatekeepers and both were contenders (tv)
God i just relised that the record padding has begun. brook is fighting some Stuart Elwell who has 12 wins 1 by KO. i guess thats good bye all C class and better fighters for another 20 fights or so. ps frank warren is a son of a ***** man *****
kells a top top fighter best welter in britain by a mile used to be in the same gym for 18 months comenwealth then european this year would be my route 2 years from now hes ready for anyone on the world scene dont forget hes only 22 i think
I like him, he has fast hands and a big punch, how good his chin is or how good a boxer he can be is still up fpr debate though as he hasnt fought any stern competition. He is British champ but I expect Warren to take it easy on him, Warren needs all the future stars he can get.
I haven't seen his last fight and he apparently looked very good in that. However based on what I have seen previously he has no chance of winning a world title. He is not a big puncher, he doesn't move his feet very well when on the defensive and will lean his head back to avoid a shot rather than move his feet. He thus gets caught off balance and is not difficult to hit. However, he is quick and throws combinations well. His chin is questionable, he was dropped by a nothing puncher from an average shot and his record is a whos who of feather fisted fighters. In something like 17 fights (I might be out by a couple, can't be arsed checking Boxrec) his opponents have a combined number of fights of about 150 and between the lot of them there are about 8 stoppage wins. That coupled with his KD and the fact that his promoter is Warren sets alarm bells ringing.
kell can bang trust me and the guy that had him down for 2 seconds had about 8 wins inside 2 rounds or so was dangerous early kell punched holes in him in the next round
In my opinion Kell Brook is only two or three fights away from people being able to get his name right in internet discussion board thread titles....
Comparing him to naz is abit premature. If he wasn't trained by Ingles this sort of comment would not have been made.
