40 seconds into round 1 of Norris-Taylor Foreman: "I think Norris is feeling him out just a little too long" Merchant: "...The fight just started, George" :scaredas:
:good ... and Bob Costas should replace Jim. Can't stand Jim!!! But, yeah, RJJ is great - he'll keep Larry's ass in check.
With all due respect to Costas (great at his patented format) - is he maybe a little too laid-back to call live boxing? :think Maybe the other extreme end of the spectrum from Lampley at his veins-bulging-out-of-his-forehead best/worst?
My votes for Kellerman. Merchants an ATG but it's like Lt. Murtaugh at this point, "he's getting too old for this ****" and it shows. He's past jaded at this point.
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Puh-leez. Kellerman never boxed competitively, ever. He was never a journalist either. His one claim to fame before his family connections got him on ESPN? Hosting some rinky-dink cable access show. Kellerman is utterly unqualified to do what he does, and it shows. It is pathetic that HBO has this unqualified poser commentating on boxing.
Max is fukin annoying. Max cockblocked the Mayweather Mosley confrontation in the ring. Max is a geek. Maxapoop
Merchant, but that just b/c Max kellerman is complete dumbass. So much about HBO boxing is a joke. If only showtime had their budget and fighters.
Larry is old school and we gotta appreciate him while we still gottem. Kellerman is the youngblood, but 100% dedicated and unbiased. Isnt afraid to ask questions that fans really want to know. Goes straight for the jugular. He shows he really loves the sport like all of us fans and dude is real about it.
Merchant has been on his last legs for a while. Time for some new blood. Kellerman is a little pansy, but he does come off as someone who knows his ****. At least the times I've heard him commentate. And above all else, I haven't wanted to ***** slap the **** out of him after watching a post fight interview.
Prime for prime, Merchant. Right now, Kellerman by a mile. Merchant is old as fart. Actually I can not understand the hate towards Kellerman. Guy seems regular enough to me, and his commentaries are not bad at all.
Again - Merchant was what exactly, to be so highly credentialed above a cable access show host? A hack sports-writer? Awesome.
