I’m backing Kelly for the upset.

 

Finally, very good fight, glad it's back on after being postponed 2-3 times.

Josh has been out of the ring for over a year, credit to him for taking this as his first fight back. Hope he is able to get his career back on track he went from being arguably the most talked about former Olympian excluding AJ to becoming a bit of a forgotten man.

If he boxes clever, keeps his discipline and has no issues weight wise he is capable of outboxing Avenesyan.

January is normally awful for boxing fans but that’s 2 decent headline fights in January to look forward to. I’m also backing Kelly to win and Garcia to beat Campbell.

 

The best I have seen Kelly box was at the Barclaycard arena in Birmingham on a Kal Yafai undercard, a few years ago. I was at ringside that night and Kelly looked good. Ever since that fight he looks like he is trying too hard, if that makes sense. If he can relax and stick to his boxing, great footwork, great jab I have no doubt he will win. If he starts with the flash harry antics, that are all too ineffective for him and frustrating to watch, I can see him getting beat.
I think we will see the best Josh Kelly yet, as he now has an opponent in front of him that will make him think hard and put some fear in him.

I know people will say "DA has been out the same length of time"


Absolutely correct, but my point will be.. Kelly's style is all about timing and reflexes, you need to sharpen those, where I believe DA's style is more easy to get back in to, he is very tough and gritty and a lot of that can come from the mental side... it's a mentality.

 

not checked any odds is he the underdog at the bookies ? Not to sure who wins this hard one to predict!!

His interviews have turned me off him

Charlton looks to have the better basics, thats for sure

 

I haven’t actually seen many sky mentions of Avenasyan. I’ve seen enough of him myself to know he’s a real problem and could possibly walk through Kelly with ease. This is a tough fight.
