Alcoholism is one of the hardest things to fully recouperate from in any walk of life. (As far as my sheltered up bringing will allow me to understand it anyways!) He needs the help you mentioned, and a really busy schedule. Fight 9 times a year. Guys like he's fighting this weekend are fine for 2 more fights, then he needs rounds. (Problem is, when he stops Boxing, how does he fill the void?)

    pavlik is a natural middleweight.

froch is a natural super middleweight.

weight advantage means often power advantage, in this case it does. pavlik is no one punch ko machine, neither is froch, both tko opponents by throwing a lot, still bigger froch punches harder, simply because his punches look more devasting.

pavliks body looks thin compared to the big body of froch.
pavlik has a good chin, froch has maybe the best chin in total boxing, aside from glen johnson and vitaly klitschko.

Perhaps. He didnt really outsize Taylor or Miranda IIRC. Again, I'm not saying he is going to light the division on fire, but he can win some fights there.

Bika is a tough example as he has given some of the best fighters the division has ever had to offer a severe challenge. I daresay he'd give Froch a run for his money.

I agree Magee would be a good measuring stick.

Bika is a good fighter but he's more of a gatekeeper than a real threat to Froch. He'd make things ugly and difficult but I don't think he has much chance of winning.

Although people laughed at me when I said the same about Bute.
I'd take a 10 year av bet on this one though.

bika is nuts. he has a screw loose and if I were Froch's people I wouldnt allow Carl in the ring with him. nothing good, outside of getting a cheap shot or two and bad cuts from "accidental" headbutts, could come from it.

i'm not saying he's going to win. but he'll give carl all he wants. the bute fight was a complete joke. a pavlik fight won't be. but the thing is, kelly has said he wants froch and his people to think this is just a tune up fight. i wouldnt look at it like that if i were froch

and i say "joke" b/c of how bute performed...not carl. carl was very impressive. he's made a fan out of me over the years.

Froch has a very decent chin at 168. I've seen Pavlik on ***** st at 160 against Jermain Taylor. Froch definitely hits as hard if not harder. This will not end well for Kelly unless he fixes up his defense.

I hear you man Froch has skillsl he loves to trade but the guy can box. His opponents expect to see a crude slugger and get the shock of their lives when they realized they have prepared the wrong game plan to use against him. He has an underrated jab used it well at times against Kessler then pretty much schooled Abraham with it and landed it well on Bute. He has good feet not fast but he can control distance very well. Pav has one gear zero footwork and is mentally weak.

If you are not in the right place mentally against Froch he will destroy you.

You mean the same Taylor who also knocked down Froch at 168 and wobbled him several times? Not a great example.

And yes, Froch's chin is excellent, as has been proven. And although Pavlik's beard is very good as well, it is unproven at 168.

Not true a few seconds before Froch got hurt lunging in which doubles the impact of the shot he also didnt see the shot. The right hand that put him down was not a big shot it was because he was alreay buzzed badly. Froch has a fantastic chin better than Pavlik who was far more hurt vs Taylor at 160lbs and on ***** st 3/4x vs Hopkins. Ive never seen Froch really hurt and never close to ***** street

Thats right, nobody can just go heels with Kelly and get the better of him. Being a warrior like Froch, is a recipe for disaster against a fighter like Kelly. You fight Kelly straight up, your getting ktfo.

Pavlik made a name for himself by drying down to 160 and bullying smaller fighters. He has no size advantage at 168 and will be found wanting.
I don't understand why this fight is even being spoken about,Froch is a 3 time 168lb world champ, and Pavlik is a ****in nobody, whose more famous for his alcohol consumption, than his boxing.
