Stupid post. Like someone mentioned it was a flash knockdown. It was a great shot from a great counter puncher. Kesslers upper cuts and big straight rights he hit Joe with were harder than Hopkins shot yet Joe didn't go down of them. The Hopkins shot only floored him because it was a perfectly timed shot. Kelly doesn't have that same timing or speed so probably wouldn't catch Joe with that same shot.

Im not saying Kelly can't beat Joe. He can. But unless Joes punch resistance decreases dramatically over the next few months or his reflexes slow down dramatically and he gets caught perfectly then he will not get knocked out. Beat on points maybe, but not knocked out.

Byron Mitchell did not have one punch KO power. Pavlik hits much harder than Mitchell and hits harder relentlessly.

Mitchell was 5'11 1/2" and 167 with a 71" reach when he fought Calzaghe.

Pavlik will be 6'2 1/2" and 168 with a 75" reach when he KOs Calzaghe.

Pavlik is naturally bigger, stronger, tougher and harder hitting than Mitchell. He also has a longer reach and a much better jab.

Pavlik is better than Mitchell in every way. And he has proven it. Mitchell simply proved that Calzaghe has fans who think he's God like for beating the likes of Byron Mitchell.

Pavlik's advantage is that he is underrated in a way that is absurd. It will probably be that way when he is 60-0 with 57 KOs and has the Middleweight, SM and LH titles. :-(

That puch B-Hop landed was a pretty sneaky shot. Kelly won't be throwing anything like it. Frankly though if Kelly gets his Jab cookin that right hand will definitely find its mark.

Also Joe IMO has a pretty good chin.

pavlik is too slow, too predictable, and too straight up to beat a guy like joe. joe can give him angles, take away his jab, and hit him cleanly more than he gets hit in return.

plus pavlik isnt a counter puncher like bhop. he doesnt punch with that kind of speed or snap. its like a thud and besides, joe wasnt hurt when bhop put him down.

I for one would love to see this fight. I think Pavlik has the power to hurt JC. I also think pavlik will carry the weight well at smw and will only add to his power. Pavlik seems to be improving with every fight.

But in fairness to JC .J TAYLOR hurt Pavlik real bad so JC could do the same. If this fight happens I think it will be a real tear up may be even a modern classic fingers crossed.

If "old henry cooper" as ALI liked to call him, put ali on his ass then I believe george foreman will stop ali late.

and you could swap names a 100 times and still get the same conclusion.

    :verysad ...it's very sad...

I was taking the side of the fans of Calzaghe were just getting overthetop and now the Pavlik fans are going overthetop...and there's no analysis, just bitching and a them and us tennis-game.

No wonder many of the the best posters leave or just don't post much...:-(

    i agree
sadly there is not much middle ground.

to many immature posters from both sides saying he is a bum/he is a bum /
just because he is a european or american etc etc.

Listen, Kelly KO's anyone around the weight because of his power, so if he hits Joe clean and enough times he is knocking him out....its not rocket science.

What you seem to be missing is he aint gonna land enough times to knock Joe out, he is to straight forward and comes foward just the way Joe likes it, Joe is a masterful counter puncher and does bad things to that style, which you would notice if you saw any of his fights over the Decade of Destruction and not just the last 3yrs.

His movement and savvy will take away Kel's jab, he will also neutralise the power shots.

When Kelly does land, and he will at points, you will also notice the SM King's chin, he can take awesome bombs, but Kelly will only land now and then because Joe will adjust and Kelly chance will be gone......

Kelly is a great Champion and i look forward to watching his fights, him and kessler getting it on is a brilliant fight and should be made in the near future, but when Kel fights Joe he loses, why ?

    Because Champions dont beat Kings...........!
