Doesn't matter that Joe can't knock Pavlik out, which may not necessarily be true because a lot of people overrate Pavlik's chin as it is. He's been on unsteady legs numerous times. It's his heart that drives him.

Fact is though, how is Pavlik going to land his power shots when Calzaghe won't stand right in front of him. Sure it's inevitable that Pavlik will land a hard shot, but when he does, Calzaghe won't just retreat into a corner like Taylor did.

Don't get me wrong, Pavlik is a great fighter and potentially an ATG, but he has a lot to learn. He relies too much on his power and needs a couple more fights before he's ready to step in the ring with a guy like Calzaghe or even Kessler for that matter.

I think JC wins by decision. But honestly for me,if I wanted to sit down and watch a good fight amongst these guys,Stylisticly I would much rather see Kessler-Pavlic.IMO that would be a great fight to see.

Pavlik's rematch with Taylor at 166# will make a good tune-up. Then starting calling out Calzaghe who already ran his mouth after the first Taylor fight. People seem to be forgetting that. JC ALREADY called Kelly out. Before the fight the other night I thought Kelly should just stay at 160 and clean out the division. After watching Calzaghe /Kessler I've decided that if that is as good as it gets at 168, Kelly can move up anytime he wants to. I do admit that when Kelly finally loses his "0" it will probably be to a slick boxer, but it won't be Calzaghe, and certainly not Kessler. Beating JC by a mid-round KO or TKO would probably make Kelly the most marketable fighter in the world for awhile, and I'd love to see that. Joe is a solid champion, but his record is as much a matter of careful match making as it is his ability. Pavlik can beat him. 5 of his last 6 opponents were guys all the "experts" said Kelly should lose to. He knocked every one of them out in 9 rounds or less. The really pathetic thing is that if this fight happens most all the people who are now saying Kelly has no chance against JC and rating him in the p4p top 5 will say; "Calazaghe was shot. Kelly beat an an old worn out version of Joe. blah-blah-blah-blah."

I agree mate. I still want to see him go to Germany and clean house. As a fan of Joe, Mikkel, and Kelly I was pretty surprised by the poor showing of Kessler even Joe did'nt show us his best the other nite. Both fighters did'nt bring their best which is something Kelly does not know how to do. He outboxed Taylor and forced the fight to his likeing after being knocked down! the guy just doesnt care to fight past 7 rds and hasnt fought past 9. Doubt Pavlik all you want and if you Joe nuthuggers thought Mitchell could put Joe on the floor Pavlik will truly open your eyes. Cheers Mate:good

Now that Pavlik is a box office star, no doubt he will get the chance to make your prediction come true.

Some of you guys sound like idiots. The man is giving his opinion from the inside of the fight game. If he is wrong, just tell him so. All this bull**** about him being a troll because you dont agree or are a Calzaghe fan is not neccesary.

Possible. Calzaghe is no spring chicken, and old roosters often become very old when facing a hungry young ****. Calzaghe has fast hands and fast feet. If Pavlik can formulate a plan to deal with it he might accomplish what Lacy and Kessler failed to do. If he comes at Calzaghe the same way he did against Taylor and Miranda, Calzaghe will just slap him for 12 rounds.

Well said man, its nice to see a fan who actually uses his brain and is far well apart from the nuthuggers and haters on the spectrum of boxing 'fans'

There are to many 'fans' on this forum who will tell you their fave fighter completely ****s up any other fighter they dont personally like, for that reason, no thought or analysis whatsoever..

I don't believe that Kelly has a bad chin...on the contrary. he took vicious shots from taylor in rd 2, and still got his legs back...but except for that, you are correct ..Joe would beat him, and it would be a clone of Lacy and Joe..which is why I'd like to see Pavlik fight Lacy at 168 :bbb

    I think its a REAL good fight @68, PAVLIK-JOE

JOE has to be on his A GAME cuz PAVLIK IS a volume puncher, intense, can box and has pop...plus he has a disciplined right hand w/power, a southpaw killer.

I can see JC outboxing Kelly for the majority of the 12 but being dropped more than once...I wonder how JC would act in the late rds taking punishment. We know how THE GHOST does under pressure and pain. Joe did good against Mitchell, but the bout was stopped early. THis would be a good fight.
