    Agreed. :good

People got excited, and rightfully so, because the guy has an insane KO ratio and at that point KO'd the unbeaten middleweight champ Jermaine Taylor. Pavlik has had some crazy knockouts and is an incredibly exciting fighter. Everyone should Youtube the Zertuche stoppage :bbb. Most people werent aware of Kelly until either the Miranda or Taylor fights and therefor dont realize that he had been in the ring with some good competition already. That being said, they come on these forums and blast the man and shout the praises of unproven, untested and most importantly to them, unbeaten fighters.

He may lack some things, but he makes the most of what he has and I admire that about him.

Somewhere in between. Yes he is a working class white boy made good from a working class city, he is also exciting....so far so good.

However, he is simply not good enough a fighter. He is slow, one dimensional, easy to hit. he just will never have a chance against the elite. Calzaghe would murder him, Abraham should beat him.......

Yeah hes had some great ko's and stoppages but part of that is based on his managements careful approach to selecting an opponent. I give props to kelly and his team for stepping up and facing a dangerous fighter like Hopkins but from now on if they want to keep his record in tact they are going to have to go back to their original plan and carefully choose his opponents. IMO he has no choice but to stay at 160 for as long as he possibly can. I don't think Pavlik could beat Calzaghe, Kessler, Wright, at 168 or above. Time will tell

I possibly should have started a new paragraph for clarity, but I'm still waiting for you to tie in you response to what I said. I was saying that AFTER the Rubio comeback, Lockett might look better. :D

By the way. It USED to be the Pavlik people couldn't have a presser without referring to the inevitability of Pavlik moving up. They started dropping that line and talking about how dedicated he is to defending his title. After the Hopkins defeat Loew said from now on if someone wanted to fight Kelly, they would have to come to MW. Kelly is the local so I follow him closely. Bottom line, Kelly's dedication to his title seems to have made weight less of an issue.

    But, let me

Nothing will ever change the fact that Slappy Joe spent 6 months openly challenging KP. Kelly said yes multiple times, but Slappy ran like a little *****. He lied constantly, talked out his ass with 5 different stories, and hid behind a version of Roy Jones that Shaun George would beat.

Dust? He lost to Hopkins at a weight he doesn't belong at.

It won't happen. Calzaghe has the perfect excuse now, and Team Pavlik seems quite insistent about KP not doing anymore division hopping.

Tell me based on the performance that you saw between them, how would a fight at 160 be any different?? Hopkins still would have outboxed him the entire fight, kelly didnt know how to handle him and how to defend against such an unusual style. What evidence is there that he was unhealthy for the fight? In the pre fight, countdown him and his team said he felt great and that he was much more confident at the higher weight because it was more natural for him. I respect the fact that he gives priority to defending his title but the fact is he lost because he was outboxed and the result would be the same at 160,168,175 he would have lost to Bernard Hopkins

Com on bro -- you can't possibly be that far behind in the news. How about two doctors, a physical therapist, and multiple journalists, one of which was in the locker room before and after the fight.

NO. I've given you two tries and you failed each time. You read part of what I wrote, take it out of context to make the point you wish to make. I've made it as simple as I can. Sorry if you can't follow it, but I'm not getting drawn in a different direction. :bart

Don't bother with this genius. He can't even read or thinks he is clever enough to ignore what is written like we won't notice and pretend he is making a brilliant rebuttal. :tired
