He was a tune up for fighting a south paw like Bute. If Pavlik does not think he is ready to fight Bute why would he take the tune up fight? Its only 50 thousand dollers and he has millions plus his own high class bar that generates a lot of money. If he lost to Cunningaham his career would be really screwed. Its not worth the risk if he is not going to fight Bute imo.

Man get the **** out of here with that Booradley. Your man ****ed up. So what he was the former mw champion. He's fighting at 168, and hasn't beaten anyone to say he deserves more money bottom line at 168. People wanted to see this fight. Pavlik ****ed up. If the fight is on everything is good, otherwise he ****ed up.

Kessler refused 3.5M to fight Bute. Please tell me he's gonna make more against ROBERT STIEGLITZ for the WBO belt...

With this logic, I guess RJJ should have more money in any fight against about anybody.

Even then you didnt refute any of the other things I said and here are another post I made in another thread to answer you:

What happened is Interbox and Top Rank negociate, not Bute, not Pavlik. Then Top Rank pay Pavlik. So bottom line, Pavlik is not happy with what his own promotor gives him and now is doing this. It's your opinion that Pavlik should have 60% of the fight, I dont agree, but you can have any opinion, it's your right. But here, it's not Bute's fault, it's a problem between him and his promoter.

I think his own promoter know more what is his value than you, but if you feel you can do better, just communicate with Pavlik to be his promoter.

But the worst part is his contract is signed for weeks now. So Pavlik is at least an unprofessional guy doing everything to **** everyone. At worst, a liar trying to find any reason to pull out because of X (put the one you want here) reasons.

    if 1.35 mil + 40% is peanuts...

I need to get me some damn peanuts.

Any way you slice it, this was a terrible move on Pavlik's part. I mean terrible.

For one, whether you think Pavlik deserves more than 1.35 mil+40% against Bute or not, that has nothing to do with him pulling out of the fight on Saturday.

The man was relatively devoid of momentum. He's pulled out of more fights than actually fought in the last few years. His only wins were against low level competition and got beaten up twice. Then he became more known for his alcohol problems than his work in the ring. At the very least fighting this weekend in front of hometown fans could have helped swing a little momentum behind him as Pavlik and Youngstown seem to have a pretty complicated relationship.

All pulling out of Saturday's fight did for him was **** off his promoter (who might cut ties with him), his manager, his fans, and Showtime(who also might cut ties with him). HBO probably will be dodgy about booking him as well as he's developed a reputation for pulling out of fights.

    Just a stupid, indefensible move.

They only thing I see is that Pavlik got lost in the liquor store again and was obviously not ready to fight... not even my mom.

So I guess the not fighting for peanuts move make some sense.
A lost saturday would have been terrible.

Bute wanted Atlantic city even though that would have meant way less money for him. It was prove his detractors that he could fight outside his hometown. Pavlik wanted Montreal because he would make more money than in Atlantic City, and now suddenly decides that 1.35 M + 40% is not enough?

But the funny part is Beatle saying Palik deserves more and Bute's drawing power is irrelevant cause they could have fought in AC, even though that would mean less money for Pavlik and Mtl was his choice to start with. :think

Bute haters will have a field day after this. Saying how Bute is a hometown fighter that wouldn't even go to Atlantic City to fight Pavlik, paying him peanuts to get him out of the fight ... :!:
