you all are constantly trying to belittle bernard in an effort to trash kelly. in the two years preceding the pav fight, bernard absolutely destroyed tarver, soundly beat winky, and arguably beat joe and put him on his ass in the process. that is hardly the work of someone 15 years past their prime.

I swear he drank the kool-aid when Pavlik/Williams was first announced and it wasn't quite a lethal dose but the permanent damage is quite apparent. I'm afraid he'll never be able to make a full recovery. Sad, Sad case. :-(

Goosen could have ask Top Rank and Team Pavlik to put $500K in escrow that would go to PW if Pavlik pulled out. Instead of doing that, Goosen returned to his demand for a 50/50 co-promotion. He new full well Arum would say no, because Arum dismissed that out of hand the last time Goosen ask for it.

The simple fact is that Goosen now knows for sure that his welterweight would get his ass handed to him. Futhermore, Goosen did not make the decision to return to 147 instead of fighting Pavlik until after he talked to Williams and Peterson. In other words this move comes with the full approval of the two guys who who insisted that Pavlik would be an easy guy for PW to KO.

Paul Williams got battered by a junior middleweight who has a 50% KO ratio against questionable opposition. That made all parties stop and finally realize how badly Pavlik would hurt Williams. It's a smart move on Goosen's part, and the right thing for Paul's career. It's a good thing Paul's fans don't manage and promote him, because they just aren't terribley smart or honest with themselves.
