Yeah, thats not what happened when he saw that he hurt Taylor with a good right hand. Once JT went into retreat to that corner, KP was like a Monster on top of him. He's a terrific finisher!
Prior to the Williams/Martinez fight we had posters on ESB, and members of the boxing establishment, talking quite seriously about PW being the best fighter from 147-168. Yes, PW is over rated.
Pavlike not busy enough...Martinez beats him to the punch....i see Martinez winning in SD......Pavlike will get schooled just like the B-Hop fight.....
Normal welterweights average about 60 punches per round. Pavlik, who is a middleweight, averages over 70 punches per round, and has had several fights where he threw 90-100 punches per round. Now, please list all the similarities between Hopkins and Martinez.
Hes not....Plus, hes super overatted. you guys think hes this great thing because he beat jermain taylor and edison miranda....lmao...and Jermain had him done.....if he wouldnt of ran out of gas, that fight wouldve ended with a KO...... Martinez wins easily.....Pavlike sucks
Nice diversion, but it won't fly. And by the way, Pavlik/Taylor I did end in a KO. I guess you must of forget. Can't blame you for being upset. I'm sure it was quite humilating to see your boy turn down a career high pay day, and a shot at the linear middleweight champ, so he could fight Cintron for no title and less money.
Don't worry about him. That butt hurt mutt can lick his own ass for comfort. (You might send that tom of yours over to rip him a new one that is harder to reach)
I think Pav can stop Martinez late rounds. Martinez fades late due to constant movement. He doesnt have much of a workrate inside so he will look to " steal the fight " with fancy pot shots. Those punches will probably look good but everything else in between will look poor. Unless he is able to hurt Pav with one of those big counter punches...
What you say in this second post is part of the reason why I'm unsure about your first post. Williams' sloppy style helped him against Martinez. He would jump in at awkward angles and it forced the guy to engage. It made him unpredictable and difficult to counter. On top of this, Williams has a speed advantage over KP: he can get to the punch faster and seize the opportunity presented by a Martinez error faster. Pavlik might find it more difficult to force exchanges against Martinez, and he might not be able to get so much leather in as Williams did. Of course, there's a flipside to that: when Pavlik does land, there's a high chance he'll put Martinez' lights out. He also doesn't "fall in" and leave himself open like Williams does, etc. etc. I just don't think Williams/Martinez is a great barometer for Pavlik/Martinez.
Williams might have made his own openings, but he also left himself open in the process for Martinez to capitalize on. By easier I guess I'm saying 'gets hit far less and less effectively' than Paul was clubbed. Tracking him down if he goes into 'run mode' is a different story. Kelly will be in position to land when Martinez IS in range because he won't be out of position. I don't think Martinez can close without Kelly extracting 'rent' for that space.
