Kelly Pavlik: I have to shoot Calzaghe in the foot to get him to stop running from me

Pavlik is fun to watch and great for boxing. I like the trash talk too.

 

I like Calzaghe, and it appears to me that he is trying to make as many big money fights as he can at this stage of his career.

Hardly unusual, look at DLH, PBF, etc.

Obviously, at this point in time, a fight with RJJ will bring more money than a fight with Pavlik.

Anyone can see that Pavlik is on the path to gaining more publicity and a bigger profile by fighting Hopkins.

I think it's pretty definite that provided Pavlik beats Hopkins and Calzaghe beats RJJ, they will meet in the ring.

Calzaghe will be looking for one last big payday and Pavlik's stock will have risen immensely by beating Hopkins and he will be more well known.

All this grumbling from Pavlik and dismissal by Calzaghe is just to build hype for their eventual fight.

Was he 'worthy' enough to fight Calzaghe? He did fight him? No? That is Dane Pugilists argument. Not worthy, no fight. So, the example stands in this instance. You can't do like DP and pick and choose what you want to be relavent.

Can we say "double standard" then? :rofl Pavlik is figthing Hopkins because Joe, after calling Kelly out NUMEROUS TIMES decided to fight someone he himself has called shot. NO WAY you win this agrument. Joe has to live with what he said. This is getting stupid.

 

If he ends up fighting him after Jones all this crap is null and void ! But im sure Hopkins is also going to play spoiler !

I completely fail to see your argument. Where is the double standard? Both Hopkins and Joe has proven themselves over many years, and it is okay at the age of 35+ to go for the money. What is the incitament for Pavlik?

Furthermore, is the "he called him out" your only card? That is ****ing sad.

 

As proven numberous of times in this thread, I am able to put things into the right perspective. Have I given Pavlik any crap for facing 20 crap fighters? No - and why? Because he is an up an coming - and hopefully for him - a *snickers* star. He is entitled to fight crap every once in a while. His division isn't very deep either.

But I can name a handful of better skilled fighters that are more worthy of a fight with him? Why should Pavlik bypass all of those, just because he is american, and he beat another one as such. Taylor wouldn't make top 5 in SMW. Calzaghe has already beaten a better fighter in Kessler. Get over it. Should he chose to fight Pavlik - you will then come to the same conclusions as I - I just dont need to see it to call it.

Who cares about Pavlik except a few hypers, who can't see he is a B lvl fighter at the most.
