Pavlik is trying to lose all credibility he had left... picking the easy leftover with a belt instead of the Bute fight.

That would be the fight I'm waiting for to make some good cash. The odds would be lopsided in Pavlik's favor wrongfully. Magee is an hardworker/good professionnal kind of guy that could cause Pavlik some serious troubles at this point of his career.

Smart business decision by Pavlik. Fight for a title at 168 against a much more beatable opponent than Bute. Plus if Kelly has a belt at 168, he can demand more money for potential fights against the likes of Froch, Ward and the elite of the super middleweight division. Makes sense now why team Pavlik withdrew from Cunnigham fight. Still a shady move but they're just taking a play from the Daivid Haye handbook. Can't blame team Pavlik though, boxing is a business after all.

    :good

The Top=Rank plan for Pavlik was shite anyway imo... Fight at home for 50 Gs [the smallest purse he would have made in many years] ... then go to Montreal for only 1.3 mill and LOSE, [no way he beats Bute at home imo].

His whole career path after winning the title has been a disaster... Time for Team Pavlik to start thinking about what the fk they are doing for a change. :deal

Well at least Bute never pulled out of a fight while Pavlik pulled out of 5 fights in just 2 years and just spit on a $1.35+ million fight with the Romanian later this year. I'm quite tired of this.

Good for him if he actually fight Brian Magee for a "world title". But as of now Magee beats Pavlik IMO.
