    How?

All his shots were landing on AA's gloves, and as soon as Arthur threw back he was hurting Marquez. He didn't land a single shot to the head of any note throughout the fight.

Abraham is the better middleweight. Better defense, better mobility, faster hands, better chin, and equal power. I'd go one further and say Abraham's power is more dangerous because he need not beat you up to hurt you with it, one shot can, and often does, end his opponents' night. Also, Kelly's offense is rather predictable, while Arthur mixes up his attack very well.

I'm a huge Pavlik fan, and I'm worried about his potential fight with AA. If I were Pavlik, I would take two fights before stepping in with Abraham. Build your confidence back up, work on your defense, work on diversifying your punch output. Hopefully, you win both tune-up's and take Abraham on in September '09.

This is one of the fights I really want to see happen in 09. Pavlik is the favorite here but it is a very tough fight. Abraham is the hotter fighter right now based of their recent performances. But if the roles were reversed I have no doubt Hopkins would have pitched a shutout over Abraham and Pavlik would have walked right through Marquez. So without getting too caught up in their recent perfomances Pavlik beats Abraham in a middleweight classic.

Lets just see who Pavlik lines up for his next 3 fights, after getting smashed to bits by a 43 year old man and looking like a rank amatuer i'm guessing it'll be a clone of Gary Lockett.

Abraham also is a bigger one punch puncher and has the better chin.

just a frustrated internet junkie who knows dick of the sport. I'm sure pavlik wants AA as bad as he wants pavlik, but I think personally that AA is a bad styles match-up for the ghost.

As of this moment, the middleweight division is basically a two man division.. Pavlik and Abraham.. While Sturm is also a big name, he's babysitting the title over in Germany.. Pavlik is the champ so he's ranked #1 at 160, but I do believe Abraham will upset Pavlik whenever they do fight.. Who's the better fighter? They both have flaws, but we'll see next year..

Sturm fought as often outside of Germany as Abraham, so how is he babysitting the belt and Abraham is not :?

Abraham is unbelievably strong. It is like the upper body of an heavyweight boxer has been put on his legs. I don't know how he can get his weight down to 160.

Sturm has been known to holding onto the title.. Atleast Abraham wants big fights such as Sturm and Pavlik and he's starting to fight over in America..

Yeah, I would favor Abraham over Pavlik. I have said that for a long time, long before so many people jumped ship when Pavlik lost.

Pavlik is a good fighter, but he gets hit too much. Pavlik likes to brawl. Abraham has a rock solid chin, a tight peek a boo defense, and devasting power, styles make fights.

I could see Abraham KOing Pavlik with a wild ass left from hell or an uppercut. Pavlik is not hard to find.

Hopefully the fight happens, it would be great. If it doesn't then I hope all those Pavlik fans who were going ape**** over Calzaghe not fighting their boy do the same for Pavlik!

Pavlik is still the man at 160 though for me, but I thought Abraham was struggling to make the weight and might move up if he doesn't get the fight soon?

First off -- Pavlik and Abraham are NOT avoiding each other, and those who say one is avoiding the other simply aren't paying atention. The primary reasons this fight has not already happened are simple. 1) Until recently only really hard core fans even knew who AA is. 2) The sanctioning bodies and their ridiculous mandatories do the sport far more harm than good.

Ever since I heard that Winky Wright is finally getting serious again, I've been looking hard at ranking the middleweights. Assuming that Winky looks good in a couple of tune-ups, and can get back to at least the level he was at when he fought Taylor, I rank 160 this way:

    #1 Kelly Pavlik
    #2 Winky Wright
    #3 Arthur Abraham
    #4 Felix Sturm.

In my opinion the best way to sort this out would go like this:

February: Bring the Abraham/Sturm fight to fruition. Sturm does not have enough power to keep AA honest for 12 rounds. Somewhere along the way AA lands, and it's over.

Pavlik/Rubio -- Pavlik will make short work of Rubio, but Kelly needs to get rid of his WBC mandatory, and unlike Lockett, Rubio did earn his shot.

June: Pavlik/Abraham with Winky against a top 10 guy on the undercard. Outside of a lucky shot Abraham simply does not have the tools, or the style to beat Pavlik. Abraham, with his short stature, short arms, mediocre foot work, and low work rate, is target practice for KP. Pavlik keeps the pressure on from range, AA goes to the ropes like he usually does when under pressure, Pavlik turns the ring into a phone booth, and AA gets sparked. Winky wins his fight and looks good doing it.

October: Pavlik/Wright -- Pavlik wins a clear UD, or stops Winky late.

And now we have a clear, and undisputed middleweight champion.

Is that something wrong? Fact is Abraham“s competition is not better and he has not fought more often outside of Germany as Sturm. Right now neither the fight with Sturm nor with Pavlik is made and Sturm himself also said in the past he wants to fight Pavlik or Abraham. In that regrd there is no difference.
