    @Welcome back Boo :)

I know exactly how you feel, felt the same after Abraham vs. Direll...

Hard to see the favourite fighter loose, no matter what was the course.

pavlik will be back, but he'll be back against guys who come forward and are there to be hit. he won't be back against guys who use angles and box, because he hasn't got the style nor the tools to cope with that. a new trainer won't change that, it's too late for pavlik to completely change.

First of all, Boo, Welcome back.

As you might have expected, you took a lot of flak in your absence. You had it coming, though, given some of the vitriol you poured over anyone who remotely suggested Martinez might win.

Still, I can understand how someone might get a little over-zealous about a hometown prospect who makes it to the top. I believe you are still a bit shook up over Saturday's fight and are not thinking clearly just yet.

Your tag-team mate, Hermit, made a better attempt at manning up.

You were doing fine up till page four. Maybe you would have continued doing fine if some of the gloaters had given you more props for your initial attempts.

It's clear you take the sport a lot more to heart than many, and consequently, invest a lot more emotion and passion than most.

This is admirable, but it can sometimes cloud your otherwise decent boxing judgment.

I'll give you the same free advise I gave Hermit (and feel free to ignore it).

Don't post anything more on Pav or the fight for at least a month. Time will assuage the disappointment provide perspective.

I expect to continue to disagree with you on some points, but agree on others. Either way, you know you can't stay off the forum. You're an addict. You need it.

And it benefits from your presence.

    Keep on postin':good

The fact is Pavlik was never an elite fighter. He was good, and thats about it. Fast, agile fighters with an average chin and a bit of toughness are always going to beat Pavlik.

You should just admit you got him massively wrong, or that you dont know anything about boxing

Boo, how old are you? In the 50's? If so then man if your really really smart then shouldn't you know that Pavlik hasn't been the same since the Hopkins fight?????? Now after Martinez beat the crap out of Pavlik, you making these excuses cause Pavlik didn't look he wanted to be there? Or he's a shot fighter? For months and then weeks, you been talking **** after still talking **** about how Pavlik will destroy Martinez and that Martinez would be put in a stretcher. <<<I thought finally you'll realize that Pavlik just only beats fighters that stands right in front of him in which proves Pavlik is just 1 dimensional but no you're excuse comes. I call it from day 1 in which i told you Martinez will beat Pavlik. And i knew there will be excuses.

You were flat out delusional when you overrated as exciting and very good fighter to the level of a potentially all time great fighter. Remember when you and I had debates over fights with Calzaghe and Kessler? I specifically said that Pavlik has awful footwork, that when the right hand missed (and I even used an example from a dominant win against Lockett to illustrate it) his whole torso was dragged forwards and off balance, so he had to re-set himself. And that basically the first good counter puncher with lateral movement and decent handspeed would cause him fits?

And that someone like Calzaghe would Lacy him. 1-12, because of the angles, movement and Pavliks huge technical flaws. You laughed, and said Pavlik would KO him. Next fight he faces just that sort of fighter, a counter puncher with a fast, sneaky right and good angles...in Hopkins. And he got whipped.

Since then, he goes on a run and then next fighter of that ilk he gets beaten again.

This golden period of his that you refer to saw him fight one top tier fighter in Taylor. You have spent the past couple of years trying to upsell Zuniga, McKart etc as great fighters. They're not. KPs best names are Taylor and Miranda, and what has happened to the latter every time he has stepped into the top tier? He has been beaten.

Pavlik is a world championship level fighter, gives great value in most of his fights and can win another title, but he was never the fighter you tried to paint him to be. Yes he did well to get off the floor and beat Taylor, but Taylor finished badly, it could easily have been all over in 2 rounds. But credit where it is due, KP showed heart and belief. But the fact is that he has lost to the type of boxer he was always going to have trouble with if he couldn't land the big bomb.

And he can move up in weight, do whatever he likes in terms of conditioning, but if he steps in with a Ward or a Dirrel or Bute etc, he loses again.
