Thats because SM used intelligent movement and didn't let him get set.

For ****s sakes, you don't stop, do you? So everytime Pavlik loses, there must be something wrong? Cause you know, the opponent has nothing to do with it.

I remember after the Hopkins fight you said that version of Pavlik would have lost to Bronco McKart! Bronco ****ing McKart! :rofl

    Your deluded.

You know, Boo, what I really like about you is that you write what you think. I did the same with AA -- not that drastically, but I did. Thumbs up!

Exactly. You could just follow a fighter until they lose and then say that the version that lost would have lost to someone six fights previous, and that the old and best version of your man would never have lost and was the greatest ever.

    Here is an example...

Edison Miranda at his peak was unstoppable, the Miranda of 2004-2005 destroys anyone from Middle up to Light Heavy.
But wow, the version that lost to Bute the other night, he is so shot, weight drained, overweight, mentally not there, suffering from personal problems etc that he would have been KOd Jose Verela when he fought for the Latino middleweight crown.

The version that got stopped by Abraham was not much better, he would have been KOd in 1 round by Howard Eastman, something is wrong. Imagine 2005 Miranda against Bute?

Bute would have had his career ended.

You are correct to an extent, but I am talking about his seeming reluctance to throw back when attacked. Instead, as ilyrmarti pointed out in another thread, he merely covered until the opposing attack ceased.

Do you think he should move up? His frame certainly lends itself to moving up.

His 2 fights against Taylor and Hopkins suggest moving up would just make his problems worse.

He loses most of what makes him good when he moves up. He has many similarities with Hatton.

Does it? I mean it looks like it should, but then I'd say the same about Chad Dawson, but I think 175 is his weight, much like 160 is Pavlik's. Least we forget the two times he has moved up, he's been poor.

Not until he literally can't make 160lbs any more and even then, he should consider a few catchweight fights. If he goes up now, he just gets knocked out by the first strong 168lber he fights. He will struggle when he makes the move up. 168lbs has a lot of strong fighters and Pavlik won't be able to boss them around and we know he can't fight differently, so it's important he is strong at 168 with added muscle, or he will find himself caught between divisions.

:lol::lol: Too true. It's a shame it's happened in both fights and the way it's been said. Regarding the Hopkins fight Pavlik could have been KO'd by Bronco McKart or Zuniga! And after this fight, in another thread, he could have been beaten down by the current version of Jeff Lacy...the current version of Jeff freakin Lacy???

    Back to reality.

If Pavlik opts for the rematch you're going to see much of the same.

Because he didn't grow into the division. If he goes up to 168, he needs to add 5-7lbs of muscle so he is solid and strong there, rather than moving up, just so be doesn't have to drain so much.

A post without excuses proclaiming that Pavlik lost because of a cut, excess weight outside training camp or because he wasn't his normal self. Well done sir, a shame the rest of the Pavlik fans can't seem to follow in your footsteps.
