Even though I'm a Martinez and Taylor fan, I agree with you.

Well I'm no expert, but I don't think being a doctor automatically means that you're a good cutman.

Thanks for the compliment. The posters who flamed me are just the usual crop of ****-wits. Most of them have been on my ignore list for ages, so I wouldn't even see their posts if others did not quote them.

And I know the fight was competetive. I thought 8-4 was the right score, with the knock down it comes out 115-112. Hardly what I would call a blow out.

Others can disagree with me all they want, but this should not have been a close fight. No one will ever convince me that the kid we saw Saturday night was on the same level with the kid we saw from fall 2005 thru spring 2008.

Funny thing is, most of the people who are bigging Martinez up like he is an ATG in the making are the same people who have been calling Pavlik a bum, a drunk, over rated, et for years. You can't have it both ways. You can't claim Pavlik was the worst champ in history, and then claim Martinez did something great by beating him.

In my opinion, Hopkins, Taylor, Miranda, and Zuniga would have all knocked out the kid that showed up Saturday night. Anything I say about why Pavlik put in such a crappy performance is pure specualtion.

So you think seeing something on an internet stream and a cheap lap top, and seeing it on HBO on a top of the line HD television are the same thing? That's a simple failure to think before typing on your part.

I thought it was me who felt Booradley was full of sh*t with his post but as I see a few people feel the same way!!

Someone mention that it seems as if Boo was trying to say it was Pavlik that lost a fight he should have won or Martinez won a fight he should have lost; this is exactly what I took from Boo's post!!!!

What Boo has to realize is styles do make fights and Martinez was the worst possible match up for a fighter like Pavlik!

I said in many post prior to Saturday night that Pavlik is a straight forward fighter who needed a guy to stay in front of him to be effective! The only shot Pavlik had at beating Martinez was catching him with a "lucky" punch!!!

Not to bring up Paul Williams but I said in prior post that Martinez would cause Williams more trouble than Pavlik can and after seeing the fight I feel my analysis is spot on!!

The thing I notice most about Pavlik fans post are them talking about a "prime" Pavlik or the Pavlik that fought JT!? Pavlik not training or being weight drained, Pavlik not focused or helping people out(cut man)!! CUT IT OUT!!!!! Be a fan of boxing not a fan of a man!!! Pavlik deserves credit for stepping in the ring on fight night but he also deserves his fans to be objective and honest!!!!!!

fact is your man isnt that great. hopkins already proved this. its not a huge shock that martinez ended up beating him. he will probably move up considering how big he is as a mw.

You've made your point a thousand times. In your opinion Pavlik has always been a shitty, 3rd rate, one dimensional robot. So lets follow that logic, and see where it goes.

Martinez beat Pavlik by 3 points. Williams/Martinez was a close fight that could have gone either way. I gave it to PW by a roud or two. Tons of people gave it to Martinez by a round or two. In other words, in your opiinion, Williams is just about on the same level with the shitty, one dimensional Pavlik.

Do you even think before you type?

    Boo,

As someone who was pulling for Pavlik Saturday night, in no small part because of the unjustified hate from posters like Mr. Huu, the three point Martinez win is a bit misleading.

How so? Well, in my opinion, Sergio's 10-9 rounds seemed a hell of a lot more statement worthy than Pavlik's. In other words, Sergio was more dominant in the rounds he won than Pavlik was in the rounds he won. Discount the fortuitous knockdown Pavlik registered, which had as much to do with Sergio's positioning and off balance posture at the time than Pavlik's punch, and the the ledger becomes even more one-sided.

I like Kelly, but Sergio won the bout in convincing fashion. Where we agree is in your assessment of Pavlik appearing somewhat different than the Pavlik of yesteryear. He just doesn't seem to have that same snap on his punches or gusto for ring combat.

This fight was supposed to hype a match between Kelly and Lucian. I wondered if he put the weight on in anticipation of 'going up' for that fight. All academic now.

I wrote a big honkin' reply that was going to revolutionize the world, make Christmas come early, free puppies jump out of your USB ports, and probably be five pages long but the connection logged out in the middle of sending it.
    ****, ****, ****itty ****.

If my feedback/viewpoint makes a difference for you, I could pm what I'll remember of it in somewhat manageable chunks.
