kelly definatley hits harder than calzaghe and i think he would at 168 as well. calzaghe has a much harder jab to slip and avoid than kelly and at the sametime calzaghe is almost impossible to catch with a jab when he gets its timing , where kelly has not shown this abilty yet. as to footwork , i have absolutly no idea how you could think kelly has foot movement/head movment which is better than calzaghe ? hopkins managed to land less than 1 jab a round v calzaghe.
I'm not sure we can say Pavlik ruined Miranda. The guy was never that great to begin with. Pavlik showed us that a better bully can take Miranda out. Arthur showed us that Miranda has absolutley no idea what to do after he gets rocked. Arthur's win over Miranda has absolutely no bearing on a Pavlik/Abraham fight. Styles make fights, and AA has ZERO stylistic advantages over Pavlik.
I heard the same predictions before Tarver... B-Hop schooled him. Then everyone said Winky is younger, quicker... B-Hop won. Finally he gave Joe, a current p4p no #2 a very tough fight. I tell you now, Bernard Hopkins will school Kelly Pavlik. Pavlik's defence is very very suspicious and his handspeed is far away from Joe's - and do not forget even Calzaghe had serious difficulties, very few clean shots... Hopkins has faced hitters like Pavlik before - B-Hop by UD. Hopefully we will have a fair result... :huh
I feel Kelly is gonna a hit a lot of air in this fight but, he will come away victorious and prove once again, that you have to actually throw punches to win a fight.
How much do you think him being a southpaw makes it hard to land a jab on him. Personally one of my biggest concerns about a Pavlik Calzaghe fight is KP not being able to land his jab, the question becomes how good is his lead right, and I haven't seen it yet.
If I wasn't so condescending then this is what I would have loved to have posted. I concur that Pavlicks is much heavier handed but everything else he mentioned is absolutely in Calzaghe's favour over Pavlick.
I have watched pretty much all of Calzaghe's fights and there has been nobody... absolutely nobody who has been able to lands jabs on him. Southpaw is one thing, being able to avoid jabs for your whole career is something else. You just as well not bother throwing it against Joe, it just won't land enough. The lead right however, is a different matter - as for most southpaws.
This will not be easy but Kelly had acumulative and one punch power behind a solid jab, Hop will be tricky and slippery but Kelly will catch him with some stuff that he has not been hit with and some body shots as well
Hopkins only threw about 12 jabs against Tarver - that has NOTHING at all to do with age, that's blatently a tactic. Kessler probably has one of the best jabs in the MW-LHW region and Calzaghe completely dominated this area in their fight by outjabbing a guy with a dominant jab game. It also has more snap than Pavlick's jab.. There is no way whatsoever Pavlicks has a jab anything near Calzaghe's.
Since when did Abraham become your boy? Anyway, I like Kelly. He's a pure fighter and he has skills. Ya'll are gonna keep bettin against him, and he's gonna keep winning.
