Kelly Pavlik needs Paul "The Punisher" Williams

I saw that article. I hope Top Rank and Team Pavlik are just throwing Green's name out there as a warning shot. Pavlik/Green doesn't appeal to me at all.

 

That article makes Kelly sound like Top Ranks slave. Its like they held up the Mora fight until Kelly signed a new contract with them. If thats true than Bob Arum is shadier than I thought.

 

Its more appealing than a fight with Sergio Mora. It would be a good test for Kelly if he finally plans to move up to SMW. Either Bika or Green would make good opponents.

 

yeah pav needs a 168 fight before bute, i agree. but do you think he should fight balzsay if he wants to eventually fight bute?? i would think fighting balszay would be good b/c he is a southpaw and isnt a chump despite what some think.

You really think Green can make 160? You really think he would fight Pavlik instead of just talk about it? :-(

 

Part of the problem has to do with Pavlik's goals. He stated several times that he wanted to be the undisputed middleweight champ. He started saying that long before he won his titles. In '07-'08 when various people referred to him as undisputed, he usually corrected them by saying; "There's a couple more titles out there I gotta get." I don't think he has abandoned his goal. That's the long way of saying, "Pavlik/Green would take place at 160." He wants some kind of legacy at 160. Thanks to Sauerland/Arum the biggest fight didn't happen.

Considering the desperate state of 160, he'd probably be better off moving up.
