Brinkley's not a bad idea for him, especially with that high ranking coming off the Stevens upset, and with the Bika eliminator falling apart. It would also be the type of inescapably bloody war that would reaffirm him as a darling of the action fans (most casuals) and help elevate his star status back toward what it was.

Brinkley followed by Bika or Andrade could be the quickest route to Bute, yeah.

That's assuming Pavlik even wants any of Bute. Which he shouldn't if he's got half a brain. :yep

Bute is the only money fight out there for him at 168lbs.

Bute v Pavlik has to happen. Both HBO fighters.

Pavlik has never convinced me and i always had this feeling that a half decent boxer who could maintain their composure and stamina would have a good chance of beating him, that said i thought he would be too conistent for someone like Martinez who does not offer up enough offense to keep his opponent at bay, well that is what i saw in the Williams fight but he kinda stepped up his game here and stood his ground more in the later part of the fight, that made the difference in the end.

Cant see Pavlik having much success at 168, too many skilled fighters who want be as susceptible to his power imo. I think Pavlik's run as a top line fighter is over.

Kelly Pavlik has done really well in his career, considering his limited fighting ability. His fan-friendly style made for some great fights and was great to watch.

It's his unrelenting loyalty to Jack Loew and Youngstown that was prob his undoing in the end, you can kinda tell he had more in him if he was with a better trainer.

Anyway, he's moving to a higher weight with better fighters that punch harder. Good luck with that!

The guy is too big for middleweight at this point in his career, that's a fact.

Brinkley is waiting for an eliminator for the mandatory spot. Even if the fight against Bika has been canceled, he keeps his number 2 spot in the IBF ranking. He won't risk to lose it. He may fight Pavlik but after Bika or after Bute.

Pavlik could face Sébastien Demers. He's many rankings, likes challenges and doesn't have much power. If he struggles against Demers...

Pavlik should move to LHW.I think super middel div. is one of the toughest divisions right now... some mentioned Andrade. And green, stiegliez,Miranda 2 could be fights worth going for.
But LHW is IMO the best weight for pavlik... But honestly i think we have seen the best from him.

He is too slow and gets hit too much to move up, the bigger guys will really hurt him....it was his big size as a MW that gave him his advanges......he will now go on to about an 0-6 run and then retire into oblivion.

this is a good move...i agree...martinez does the same thing to him in a rematch...all of the euros in the super 6 are decent fights for him...i know many are going to say those guys would trash him...and they might....but at least...for his style...they are better matchups then guys like ward, dirrell, and bute
