    Hi all.

With all the talk in recent weeks of how bad Calzaghe looked against Hopkins and even more recently of how Pavlik would KO Calzaghe (probably based on Joe's performance against Bernard), how do you think Kelly would do againt the Master Spoiler??

i would bet a large amount of money on hopkins if this fight was to happen soon.but as they are two weight classes apart at mo.by time they met weight hopkins would be on a zimmer frame.

i doubt kelly would stop him probably just outwork him...i wouldnt completely rule out hops im sure he'd know how to exploit the weaknesses it just a matter of whether at 43 he'd be able to carry it out

same fight as taylor, calzaghe pavlik would throw so many punches he would win a decision but hopkins would land the harder blows. Hopkins truly is a great fighter because if he was close to the same age as any of these guys he would smoke them all.

At 175, Pavlik may not be the same power threat as at 160. Even if he is, he'll rarely get a clean shot at Hopkins. He'll have the same headaches as Calzaghe, having to compromise his attack in order to avoid getting countered. In the end though, my money would be on Pavlik, if only because of his workrate.

Im not disputing your outcome, but what is with people thinking Pavlik is some kind of physical beast? He is tall as all hell, but he isn't built at all. He is 2 inches taller than Hopkins and BHop is a pretty muscly bloke, Kelly definitely wouldn't be bigger than him.

Well a prime Hopkins destroys Kelly. The one that lost to Taylor would probably have lost to Kelly, but I could see a 175lb Hopkins beating Kelly at 175.

Kelly is not that accurate with his right as people want to give him credit for. It is powerful, yes...but he throws it enough to give the illusion that it actually is accurate.

Now to the people saying a Kelly win by TKO, KO, whatever...answer me this.

Pavlik is a big hitter at 160, I will agree with that...but by moving up two weight classes, it is bound to fade a bit. Now a few fights ago, an OLD Hopkins embarrassed a big hitter at 175 in Tarver (say what ya want about the guy, but Tarver can CRACK!!!)...and seem to take his punches with EASE. Do you honestly think, that with the extra weight (and the less power) Pavlik will be a bigger hitter than Tarver at LHW???

I say no. And since there is no way on gods green earth a limited fighter like Pavlik is outboxing Hopkins.

    Hopkins UD...WIDE UD.
