Benn would KO Pavlik early. I give it 4-5 rounds tops.

Technically Pavlik is the better fighter. G Man has a great chin and a great punch. If Pavlik can be smart enough to know this then he can grind out the rounds and turn it on late. From what we know of Kelly, I think he could beat G Man. Depends if we find out his chin is not as good as we thought etc His chin to date looks quality. I can't see G Man outboxing Kelly for 12.

G Man was good but not as good as people thought. Kelly has potential to be better.

I remove myself from these Pavlik hypotheticals simply because they are a waste of time

Pavlik obviously gets KO'd, somewhere in the early rounds

Taylor was still good, and a world champion after Chavez.

Reid and Lacy were levels below Taylor post-Trinidad/Calzaghe.

Then again, Taylor was considerably better than Reid and Lacy to begin with.

I would still go for Gerald McCllenan to KO Kelly Pavlik because of his awesome power at middleweight but after seeing Pavlik again even though he didnt have much to beat he is a improving fight and a fight between a prime McCllenan and a prime Pavlik could be one hell of a war = both got power to hurt each other - what a great tear up that would be - McCllenans superior chin would see him through though. But then again Pavlik would start undedog again and he always seems to wins fights he aint fancied for

Are people forgetting that Geralds stamina was very poor and Pavliks is far superior this will have an effect on the fight.

As Pavlik is a poor version of Nigel benn, The G-man in 5 rounds.

    I agree 100%...
Pavlik in a way reminds me of Gerald in a sense that one punch can change the tempo of a fight. People would tend to question G-man's chin aswell back in the day. Pavlik will have that "Weak chin" stigma for being knocked down by Taylor, but it come with the territory.

I'd still go with G-Man in a "Fantasy" Matchup.
    BUt yes a WAR.

    Idiot.

God Bless The G-Man.Brave as a Lion.Benn-McClellan was a war and a great fight. What happened to the G-Man was tragic.

G-Man is a Legend in my eyes he is now facing his toughest opponent.Life itself in the condition he is in.

McClellan wins this bout via stoppage in a great fight.

It would go one of two ways: Pavlik/Miranda or Pavlik/Taylor II. If Kelly could withstand the initial assault and force G-Man backward, he could wear him down over the course of a long, physical fight.

However, if McClellan was able to show just enough movement and keep himself away from the ropes, he could take advantage of Pavlik's suspect defense (this is the most overstated aspect of Kelly's game) and take him out.

McClellan did have boxing skills but began to abandon them as he became more and more feared as a puncher. Keep in mind, though, that he was the last person to legitimately defeat Roy Jones prior to Tarver. It was the AMs, yes, but Jones was a two-time defending Golden Gloves champ and was gunning for No. 3, as I recall. A crude slugger couldn't have done that to a young Roy at any level.

Then, given G-Man's natural advantages in speed, power and chin, he takes Pavlik out in a shootout. Probably between rounds 5-7.
