On the scorecards that protected Taylor before...I saw Pavlik winning round 1, 3 and 6, 2 and 5 for Taylor, 4 seemed even to me...

Don't you think Manny Steward would have made different comments if Taylor was winning until the KO? I still have to see a trainer of a losing fighter giving too much credit to the guy who just beat his guy...and I found Manny's assessment spot on: Pavlik was forcing the issue, following his gameplan, the fight was moving in his direction. Taylor was fighting with heart, but nervous, confused. And he will never match Pavlik for stamina, it is genetic, roadwork can only unfold your genetic endurance potential but not exceed it. Taylor's best chance is to charge early, use his speed and hope for a quick knockout. I don't think he has the coolness to do that.

I think Taylor will come out swinging for the fences like he did last time. Pavlik will be ready for this and not make the mistake he made last time. Also, the extra weight will help Pavlik more as he is the naturally bigger guy. Go watch some of his fights at catchweights and 168 when he was coming up, he is devastating and not "plodding", he will get his legs back and his strength will be better. The other thing I think that will help him tremendously and was eveidence in the last fight is he is going to be used to Taylors style and speed which gave him some problem in the first fight until he got used to it. He had fought brawlers coming straight at him for so many fights and getting inthe ring with a quicker, more fluid boxer was a big change and took him time to get accustomed to but when he did, his jab took over the fight and he put his deadly combo's together to end it. Also, for those who keep saying he was winning the fight, that scoring was awful, even Taylor and Steward thought Pavlik was winning and I thought the fight should have been even, not so one sided. Anyways, similar results as last time, but probably earlier, I give Taylor credit for taking this fight and for the way he fought last time, but I think the mental damage is already done and I don't think Taylor will be able to make enough changes (especially with Nelson) to overcome his bad habits of the past.

If Taylor used his talents the right way, i think he could outclass Pavlik by boxing him 12 rounds. But we all know the chances of this happening are slim and none.

Really, i can't pick a winner. It's probably going to be another slugfest. That's just who both these guys are. They are fighters. They have to throw back when challenged. I can only see a KO win. But don't know who will win.

Manny didnt like Jermain, i think that was pretty obvious, but thats just speculation. anyways, i thought Taylor was winning, acually, i thought the fight should have been stopped in the 2nd, even if Pavlik did come back. im not a big fan of either guy, but its a prediction thread, and i think Jermain has more room to improve then Pavlik, so i pick Taylor.

Pavlik has never, repeat NEVER, gone past 9 rounds in his entire career.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what Taylor needs to do. And Manny Steward is no fool.

I don't see another slugfest. Taylor will make it boring until the late rounds - jab outside, hold inside. Then in the final third, Kelly will run out of gas from trying so hard to force the fight.

Taylor by late stoppage, or maybe a boring UD.

No it doesn't. But will he actually do what he should do? Based on past experiences, i think not.

Pavlik running out of gas????? I watched Pavlik and Taylor run and I am a former ironman triathlete, so I know my stuff. Pavlik has the typical running style of a naturally gifted endurance athlete. He looks fresh as a daisy after tough fights. So what if he never went past the 9th round, he is doing more in 7 - 9 rounds than Taylor in entire fights. Taylor runs like a typical sprinter with fast - twitch muscle fibers that tire faster. Those guys bounce up and down a lot when they are jogging. Taylor will never match Pavlik for stamina. He punched himself out in the 2nd round for Pete's sake, in interviews after the fight he lamented how he was spending too much energy with those wild shots. He fought a good 5th round but couldn't sustain the effort. He had to hold on for dear life in the later rounds against Hopkins, who isn't one third the puncher or endurance athlete Pavlik is. Taylor's one chance is an early charge, surprise Kelly, hope for a knockout.

Taylor has the tools to win the fight but what seperates the two fighters is Pavlik's consistent and metronomic style which will always match up well against Taylor's electric but erratic tendencies.

My guess is that Taylor will try to survive in this fight and Pavlik will win by late stoppage or UD. Taylor knows that in the first fight Pavlik got caught by a temple shot and that is unlikely to happen again, so he will try to pace himself and sneak a points victory. If he is really on and can sustain it, he might go close but everything else points to a Pavlik win.

Exactly. He is doing more work than Taylor.

I don't care how many triathalons you have run. Boxing, especially boxing in a high-pressure televised fight, is not the same thing. Surely you know that. Look up the comments of any athlete who has tried boxing for a charity event etc.

Whatever. Let's just watch the fight and we'll see shall we? :hey

about a month ago i thought Taylor would win the rematch so i placed a bet on him to win by UD .

Now after rewatching Taylor-Ouma and Taylor-Pavlik i think that Taylor just isn't made for 12 rounds bouts. He will gas out and get knocked out in the 10th unless he can put Pavlik on his ass before the 7th

This is not accurate. Four of Pavliks last 6 opponents were favored to beat him. I don't think many people picked Pierre or Zertuche to win. Zuniga, McKart, Miranda, and Taylor were favorites.

    Boo

  14. Pavlik will KNOCK HIM OUT AGAIN:dead Theres not a damn thing Taylor can do different this time, he's going to get KTFO AGAIN!!

mind says pavlik 4 the obvious reasons.

Heart says taylor. I picked taylor the 1st time, and he coulda won but got 2 ance and lost.

Uhm I think 160 was hurting Jermain stamina wise, he always seemed to get gassed out. So im hopin the xtra 6 pounds will benefit him, But i also kno the extra 6 pounds will benefit pavlik as well.
If Jermain uses his boxing ability and dont try 2 slug with Pavlik he can win by UD, or KO. But if he slugggs the fight will go the same as the 1st one
