Kelly Pavlik v Paul Williams: thoughts, predictions?

How about we see how Pavlik performs before we start shittin' on him. Taylor got all the flack because his performances against Ouma and Spinks were very poor. If Pavlik dominates Williams in the early rounds and takes him out inside 7, there will be no reason for the kind of crticism JT got. Pavlik/Williams is a mismatch. If Pavlik goes in and does his job, there will be no reason to critisize anythiing but the matchmaking.

 

Kelly Pavlik is no Margarito who had Williams had a very close fight with. Pavlik has an advantage in pretty much every single aspect, except for the output, which is even.

 

Pavlik will knock him out in less than 6 rounds

 

MY thoughts: This is just about the stupidest thing the Williams camp could do. I have no idea why they arent trying to campain at 154. Its a weak division but there are some names there and being an HBO guy he'd draw the attention he needed to make some money.

My Prediction: Pain!

 

But many people were critisizing JT for even taking those fights and they just slagged him more after the performance. It was a situation where even if he had KOd them, his critics would have said he's just KOing little guys(regardless of thier championship pedigree). The fact that he didn't KO them made it worse, but it wasn't the beginning of the criticism. Don't get me wrong, I'm not critisizing Pav for this fight, but I just think it's notable there isn't the same amount of dissatisfaction with these turn of events now that JT isn't in the driver's seat.

 

Hey if Pavlik barely beats a feather fisted former WW champ. And looks like he doesn't want to get hit, or gernerally take any chances in doing so. Then believe me you'll hear a lot of complaints.

Ok the begining of the Criticism with Jt wasn't him taking fights against little guys. The begining was his disputed victories against Hopkins and Wright and his **** poor technique and in ring smarts. Everyone got sold on Taylor as the second coming and then when he porved to be nothing more then a decent champ people got pissed. People wanted to see him make a statement after the Hopkins and Wright fights and instead he signed to fight acouple of no hoper, worse yet he amonst lost to both of them.

 

Ha Ha. Well considering that you joined in March 07 and I joined in Feb 07, I think I should be asking you that question. But really, I will most likely be changing it soon. So don't worry, you'll soon have exclusive rights to it

For once, Williams will be fighting someone his height but only a helluva lot stronger and throws a lot of punches himself.
