Naturally, a Pavlik/Chavez Jr. fight is much more likely. In fact, I highly doubt this fight I'm suggesting ever happens. So, if this fight was signed tomorrow, how do you think it would go down?

    No takers on this?

I figure there is the possibility that Junior takes a tuneup, and really, should Stevenson get by George, this might be the best option for both parties. And it would be entertaining.

It would be fun while it lasted.

Since Adonis Stevenson fought this weekend and knocked Don George down 5 times and stopped him....and with Booradley back in action with the likely Ward-Pavlik fight....maybe someone would take an interest in this potential war :think

Adonis has never really impressed me a great deal. I think Kelly would walk him down and stop him.

I tend to agree with this.

Kelly would have a lot of advantages in this fight. Taller, longer reach, much more high level experience to see him through, better chin, etc. The notable advantages for Stevenson is that he's quicker and almost certainly the bigger puncher. However, I tend to think Stevenson doesn't show Pavlik too much that he hasn't already seen and successfully dealt with before.

I think it would make for an awesome and entertaining fight though.

KP is totally acclimated to fighting guys who are quicker than he is. He's been doing it since he was 10 years old. He rarely has a speed/quickness advantage. In order for speed to represent any real advantage over Pavlik, it has to be combined with lots of intelligent lateral movement, and really good footwork in general.

I agree which is one of the reasons why I think Pavlik would win.

However, I do think it's fair to say that up at SMW we don't know exactly what might give him problems (mainly because he hasn't fought a top 10 guy). He's not going to have the overwhelming physical advantages he had at MW and the guys in the top 10 will be better than what most of his title reign opponents were. That's not to say he can't win some big fights at 168, just that he might have some problems against these guys even if they don't use "intelligent movement".
